Thanks very much for posting all the links.
I've been to SA once and skied Portillo for two days but this was a few years ago before I had AT gear (and an understanding of hiking, snow safety, etc.). I've read a lot of posts that say something like "Portillo is really small...unless you're willing to hike." Well I am willing (and wanting) to hike, most likely every day I'm there. But I have not found much about backcountry routes at Portillo other then reading about the Super C (which I'm hoping to try).
Anyway, I will be there 2nd week of August and was hoping to get some information on some fun routes. I know the lake being frozen is a huge factor here - both for skinning across to hike the lines on the other side and to access the hikable terrain above the lake run. Can anyone recommend any maps or provide descriptions of some hiking routes? Any local guide recommendations?
And last....if anyone is going to be there the same time and is looking for a hiking/skiing partner please hit me up with a PM.

Thanks, has a date been fixed yet?
If it's the 5th, 7th or 8th, I could check it out.
Edit: looks like it's 3-5 September.
Also saw that La Parva re-named "the Face" McConkey's, very cool.
The Face is looker's left of chimenea.

It's looking very likely that I'll be basing out of Las Lenas for July-September but probably traveling quite a bit too. Should know more in the next couple of weeks, need to sort out some work stuff first. At the very least, will be down for 2-3 weeks, but is looking like a 3 month stint at this point
ELA, you know I'll be floating through Bari at some point... we need to make some turns.

I'm more than likely going to be in Las Lenas for a few weeks in late july/early august as a trip before I head off to college. If you are going, we should try to meet up. A bunch of my friends are doing a last trip together before we all head off to seperate schools. If I could describe us in a nutshell, we all ride hard, don't ski exclusively park, but ski somewhat jib bc style. Always up for anything other than bulletproof bumps
