TR Bariloche Argentina
More of a place holder actually. Pics and Details will have to wait until I get home.
But a synopsis....raging tooth ache on DFW to Buenos Aires followed by unpleasant reaction to mystery meat parilla meant first two days were interesting. Weather on Mountain is like late spring but great cover means lot´s of hike to corn available from mid morning. Cloudy and wind this morning with whispers of Santa Rosa being on it´s way.
Breakfast and cafe con leche await.
Ciao
Sorry for brevity.

Beautiful!
I reckon if anyone knows how to cook a steak it's the Argentinians.
Looks like a great trip

The steak is reason enough to visit. I might have to check out that house too.
Sweet trip.

I can't believe I forgot to quiz you about this via email yesterday. More pics! More stories!
I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones.

Design Suites, heh.
We stayed there by accident once. The hot female staff, cheap massages, heated pool, ridiculous views, and outstanding food more than made up for the dented bumper (low stone fence) and small room (we had failed to communicate that there would be TWO stinky gringo guys in the room) we ended up with.
Nice pics of Laguna and Frei.
Man, I miss the cheap Trapiche, the patagonian Turns, and the Argentine 'Tang!Last edited by Yossarian; 09-18-2006 at 07:53 PM.

Yos - We loved the Design Suites. One of our rooms was upgraded to a suite which must have been almost 700 sq. ft.
Think we've got a line on a free house for next year that a B.A. friend is building at the Arelauquen gated community near Catedral. Development is a little shabby - only one golf course, two polo fields and a private heli pad. The armed guards on the gate were eventually very helpful when we arived in a pile of rust vaguely resembling a circa '84 Renault 14 taxi to let the contractor in our group check out construction progress and take some pictures for her. House comes with it's own car that we're welcome to use.

Heli pad, eh?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
I plan to go back for sure this next winter, I am sure we'll meet up.
Where is this Arelauguen deal in relation to everything else?
On the road between the town and Catedral, somewhere near where the summer dirt road cuts down straight to the lake? (By the one really vicious turn/merge/split in the road, hard right when headed towards Catedral)?
EDIT: hmm, looking at Arelauquen website now...looks swanky!Thrutchworthy Production Services
