    Marte Open!

I did the math, and Marte was open only 3 hours out of the last 40 days!

Anyways, it opened about 9:30am and was very good. Lots of powder, some windblown, although that was increasing, and a little breakable to keep you honest. Not much slide activity to report.

Long lines was the only downer but we still knocked off 6 laps. If I have time, I'll post a pic or two. Forecast is for calm weather the next few days. This could be the stretch we all have been dreaming of for over a month!

OK, here is one of a very loaded up hourglass. This morning, the winds were up and Marte didn't open. However, as of noon, the wind is dying down so we are in a holding pattern. Definetly some great wind buff forming! Stand by!

That looks dangerous. You shouldn't ski there. I mean YOU shouldn't ski there. Watch your wife from the bottom. You bastard (said with tone of envy).

Epic skiing the last few days. Marte all day Tuesday, 2:15pm opening Wednesday, and all day yesterday and today. Lots of excellent windblown, still powder lurking. Starting to corn up on the North faces. These are the days that keep us coming back from more.

Here's one at the top of an undisclosed location.

Here are a few pix from this week. We have been too busy skiing to post. Saturday morning Marte is currently on a wind hold. So, for your viewing pleasure, enjoy!

Yesterday's tour stated with a Fox sighting and ended with a Condor circling overhead. Gotta love the Andes!

Everyday here is filled with some random things. Take this guy for example on his motorcycle in the dumping snow in the middle of the ruta around a blind corner just hanging out. Thought this would make for a laugh or two. We are snapping photos of great outfits for an end of the season Andes gaper post so look for that in October!

More action photos requested please. You know, like when that stuff jumps up in your face on the down and then the damn sun gets in your eyes on the up swing.

Are those your tracks snaking into the main gully from the ridge on the right? Looks stellar!
