The second installment of the Sonic Souvenirs explores surf culture and epic waves on the Ivory Coast. Surfing is not a popular sport in Côte d'Ivoire, but the tight-knight bunch is full of richness and a deep-rooted background. We experience the weaving culture of surf, art, and dance of West Africa through the storytelling of Mikey February. Alongside the Vans crew, Mikey delves into the unique history of each wave as they travel along the coast experiencing diversified music styles, traditional dances, and the teachings of instruments.
