As a well-established professional surfer, Nic Von Rupp has had ample opportunity to travel the world in search of beautiful waves to ride. From the endless tubes of Namibia's Skeleton Bay to Nazaré's liquid mountains, Von Rupp has ridden them all. However, there's one place above all others that inspires surfers to dream of undiscovered breaks and consistent swells: Indonesia.

A few years back, Von Rupp headed to Nias, an island off the coast of Sumatra, alongside fellow surfers Leonardo Fioravanti and Aritz Aranburu. The trio was treated to a full day of overhead waves, and took full advantage, clearly.
