Ian Walsh Recounts Some of his Gnarliest Rides Over the Past Two Winters

The last two winters were action packed for Big Wave Surfer, Ian Walsh. He was scoring all time rides all over the place; especially at his home break, Jaws, on Maui and at Mavs in Half Moon Bay, CA. Big wave season in the Northern Hemisphere always lands in winter, so Ian really didn’t have to go far to find XXL swell. In this video, he looks back on some of his biggest, most violent, and most memorable waves he surfed in the Pacific Ocean since the start of the 20/21 season, and he had a ton to choose from. During the summer months of the 2021 season Ian was not just sitting around and waiting for waves to return to his side of the world, however; he met up with another big wave surfer and friend, Grant “Twiggy” Baker to film an episode of TGR’s project with HBO, Edge of The Earth in South Africa. If you haven’t gotten around to checking out their episode titled “The Peak”, I would highly recommend it.
