Skiing the Steepest Lines in the Lyngen Alps – The White Giant

I’m glad there are people like Krister Kopala on this planet, so I don’t need to go and attempt lines like the “The Death Ramp” in my down time. The spring of 2022 was an action packed one for Krister who dedicated his entire season to riding some of the most unforgiving lines on Jiehkkevárri, the highest and arguably most remote mountain in Norway's Lyngen Alps. Three separate avalanches slid in the week preceding their attempt of the south face of Jiehkkevárri, and one more slid down a couloir that Krister was standing in only an hour or so before. It really was not the safest place to be. Krister and his ski buddies can be heard saying things like “what the f*ck are we doing here,” “scariest 50 meters of my life,” and “spicy!” all throughout the descents of their runs. Sounds like a good time. Check it out for some gnarliness.

It is no surprise that the Lyngen Alps are considered to be one of the most stunning and adventurous ski destinations in the world. Skiing the steepest lines in the Lyngen Alps is an exhilarating experience that is sure to take your breath away.  diamond rings From the awe-inspiring views to the thrilling slopes and runs, the White Giant is the perfect place to explore all that skiing has to offer. With its steep and challenging terrain, the Lyngen Alps is a top destination for any adrenaline-seeking skier. So if you’re looking for a truly unique and exciting skiing experience, the White Giant should be at the top of your list.
