Over his nearly two decades of experience big mountain skiing, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa has developed an appreciation for a special flavor of adventure: winter camping with his friends in the name of skiing deep snow and big lines. He’s traveled to the far reaches of the world in this pursuit, but it turns out he doesn’t need to go any further than the Stellar Heliskiing tenure in British Columbia to chase this kind of adventure. Last winter, for the second year running, he joined the TGR crew in the Purcell Mountains to set up a cozy base camp in the woods.

Stellar Heliskiing is home to some of the best skiing in the world, with everything from big pillowed faces, perfect trees, and tight chutes - like Sage’s aptly-named Subway Couloir - lurking in the peaks above camp. It might be tough to get out of the tent in the morning in subzero temperatures, but the motivation to ski those lines under bluebird skies never seemed to fade for this crew.
