Nathaniel Coleman and Drew Ruana are two of the best young rock climbers in the world, but even the world's best struggle on a boulder problem like The Grand Illusion, a V16-rated problem in Utah's Little Cottonwood Canyon.

However, boulderers of Coleman and Ruana's caliber are used to bashing their fingers and toes against a problem dozens of times before finally sending it, so they stuck with it. Late one night, at about 2 a.m., Coleman finally made the first ascent, realizing a dream that has inspired climbers since Chris Sharma fist envisioned the problem.
