Earlier this year climbers Sam Stroh, Scott Eubank and Tavish Hansen spent a week free climbing the right side of El Capitan in Yosemite - a route called El Niño. This route is full of gnarly sequences, but none is as guessing and technical as the three pitch Pineapple Express variation that they elected to take in lieu of a point of aid on the original line. At first Tavish was a little apprehensive about sending this line, but a night of focused reflection and good music put him in the right headspace and the next morning he felt up to the task. Scott Eubank captured Tavish’s stellar climb and grabs some beautiful shots of the Yosemite Valley as well. Well worth the watch.

This rock climbing is something I will never be able to do. I’m afraid of heights, so I tried it but my knees gave out. You’ve done an incredible job here. | crumbling drywall
