Ski Racer Mikaela Shiffrin Injured in Killington Crash While Chasing Historic 100th Win

Ski Racer Mikaela Shiffrin Injured in Killington Crash While Chasing Historic 100th Win.

Mikaela Shiffrin suffered a puncture wound and severe muscle trauma after a dramatic crash during the giant slalom at Killington, Vermont, on Saturday. Leading after her first run, Shiffrin missed a gate, flipped, and slid into safety netting. Shiffrin said that something “stabbed” her when she went down, and while she avoided ligament and bone damage, her injuries will keep her sidelined for weeks, delaying her quest for her 100th World Cup victory. We're sending healing vibes and hope to see her back on the slopes very soon!
