Red Bull’s ‘North of Nightfall’: Pushing the Boundaries of Mountain Biking

We all thought Red Bull rampage was the greatest showcase of freeride mountain biking, but Red Bull’s latest film North of Nightfall just elevated preconceived standards.

The film follows Darren Berrecloth, Carson Storch, Cam Zink, and Tom Van Steenbergen—all seasoned Rampage veterans—who decided to venture far up north for an unprecedented riding expedition. They embark to the desolate Axel Heiberg Island, a spot on nobody’s radar because of its close proximity to the North Pole. The island is so remote it’s deprived of any human presence. There aren’t many reasons to want to come to here: Nine-month winters, a volatile and changing landscape, a minimum of 12 hours from medical assistance. A multitude factors that make this the most unusual choice for a riding expedition. So why go?

It’s simple: the riding. Featuring lines that double—even triple the standards at Rampage—this landscape shatters the boundaries of free riding. Basking in the never-ending daylight, these four world-class riders are given the opportunity to test and break their limits. We’re excited for the film to drop on June 5th, and witness lines too incredible to imagine.
