RECAP: All the Highs and Lows at Red Bull Rampage 2021

Another Rampage has come and gone but this is surely one that people will be talking about for a long while. After a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, riders arrived in the Utah desert hungry to put on a heck of a show. Between whispers of Brandon Semenuk's single crown bike and the chute Cam Zink and Carson Storch had built, one thing was absolutely certain- whatever was about to go down at the event was going to be huge. But as more features appeared on the hillside, more crashes were had. Andreau Lacondeguy, Carson Storch, and Brage Vestavik all crashed in practice and had to withdraw from the competition due to broken bones. Cam Zink also crashed in practice and was sent to the emergency room with a bruised lung, but was able to ride in competition.

As Friday morning arrived in the Utah desert, and the athlete roster dropped from 15 to 12 in the previous days, the world waited anxiously to see what the day had in store. First runs saw crashes from Szymon Godziek, Cam Zink, and Brandon Semenuk. But for riders like Kurt Sorge and Ethan Nell, clean first runs helped give them a leg to stand on moving towards the podium.

A short half hour after his first run, Brandon Semenuk was back at the top of the hill for his second and he held nothing back. Riding a single crown allowed Semenuk to throw a massive tailwhip followed by a tailwhip backflip, catapulting him to first place and gaining him the title of first ever back-to-back Rampage winner as well as four time winner- the most of anyone in the 20-year history of Rampage. Just behind him on the podium was Kurt Sorge with two clean runs and Reed Boggs who threw down after blowing a tire his first run.

Alongside Semenuk's memorable arsenal of tricks was Tom Van Steenbergen's massive front flip. But Steenbergen's clean ride didn't last long- he crashed coming out of a backflip on the next feature and broke both hip sockets, a piece off the top of his femur, a piece of his lower vertebrae, and separated his shoulder. The flip won him Best Trick Award, despite not finishing his run.

To no one's surprise, rookie Jaxson Riddle won Best Style award backed by his dig crew winning Digger Award. The Toughness Award went to Cam Zink for getting back on his feet to ride after his injury in practice. Despite not riding the competition, Brage Vestavik was awarded the McGazza Spirit Award.

We're sending healing vibes to Storch, Lacondeguy, Vestavik, and Van Steenbergen as they all recover and we can't wait to see what 2022 has in store for this epic event.

That was fun! I enjoyed watching it. I’m gonna share it with my friends at handyman services Sioux City

Your post was quite beneficial to me, and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future. I’ve also lately discovered a fun game called smash karts which you are welcome to join and play with me if you have the time.

Great event. Thank you for sharing this. More power to Redbull.
