Ramp Up the Adrenaline With These 6 Adventures for 2021

2021 is ripe with possibilities. After last year, everyone is eager to get out into the world and experience something new. There are plenty of Spring and Summer activities, but there are also Winter adventures to enjoy. This is the year to check those items off your bucket list. Whether it be skydiving or bungee jumping, there's an adventure waiting for you. Here is a list of ideas to get you started.

1. Indoor Adventures

It can't always be sunny and warm out, but indoor activities don't have to be dull and boring, even for adults. Grab your group of friends and try out some indoor adventures. Start with a trampoline gym for some high-flying exercise. Show off your skills twisting and flipping in the air.

Roller skating isn't extinct. Lace-up your skates and take a turn around the rink. Prefer it cold? Go ice skating instead. To really ramp up the excitement, try a virtual escape room.

Laser tag and bowling are also exciting indoor activities. You can be zooming around the track, outpacing your friends in no time.

2. Whitewater Rafting

A family white water rafting trip is a terrific way to get your kids active and out in nature, all while building memories that you will love when they are older and ready to leave the nest for good.

White water rafting is a one-of-a-kind activity that may enrich your life both on and off the river. Benefits include strengthening family bonds, connecting to nature, and challenging yourself physically.

There are many places and levels of rafting to choose from depending on your required thrill level. Outfitters will supply the training, gear, and guides for an exciting adventure.

3. Learn to Fly

Ever want to soar like a bird? Maybe taking flying lessons this summer is for you. One-on-one lessons are usually available from your local municipal airport and offer hands-on experience. Small planes can be fun to pilot, but there are other options too.

Ultralight flying is a small, single-person fixed-wing glider craft. They fly at very low altitudes and are a fun alternative to traditional aircraft. Paramotor crafts are similar to ultralight but have a parachute instead of wings.

4. Learn a Water Sport

Hot summer days and water sports go together like peanut butter and jelly. Sure it's fun to splash around in the shallows or maybe swim some laps, but if you want to crank up the excitement factor, try learning some water sports. Water skiing is a great place to start and can be two or one skis. For more speed, try jet skiing.

If you're looking for an adventure without the motor, then hang ten and learn how to surf or kite surf. You can even go under the waves by snorkeling or explore a shipwreck via SCUBA diving.

5. Mountain Climbing

If water isn't your thing, then try scaling the heights. Mountain climbing brings to mind pictures of people hanging precariously off a cliff by their fingertips. While that could definitely be something you'd like, there are less intense ways to climb a mountain. Many National Parks have peaks with trails leading to summits. While they may be technically difficult, they won't require you to harness up and traverse a sheer cliff face.

Some parks and outfitters also offer rappelling courses that involve controlled descent of cliffs or heights. This can be an exhilarating alternative to free climbing.

6. Dog Sledding and Skiing

Who says you can only get adventure in the summer? There are many winter sports to supply your adrenaline fix. Hit the slopes on your skis or snowboard. There are many levels of slopes for the beginner through advanced skiers.

Want something more unique? How about a 7 day trip through the Alaskan wilderness on your own dog sled? Snowy adventures can be found just about anywhere if you know where to look.

Don't make 2021 boring. Plan your high-adventure getaway today and make some well-deserved memories.
