The Munich Airport’s Artificial Wave Might Be The Best Airport Amenity Ever

Does the Munich Airport scream summer surf hot spot to you? Germany's international hub is home to the largest standing artificial wave in the world at just over 1.5 meters tall and 10 meters wide. The fifth annual summer surf festival, Surf + Style, hosts the European Stationary Wave Riding Championships in addition to free lessons and sessions for the novice traveling surfer.

"Urban surfing" seems to be following in urban skiing and urban downhilling's steps in terms of bringing the outdoors to the inner city. If you're in the area, might as well hop on the wave (the airport provides all necessary materials) and see for yourself. Sounds like the best layover ever if you ask me.
