going to see bands that burned out 20 years ago is a waste of time and $$$. Iron Maiden rocked when they were in their prime of course.

I'm a huge journey fan and when they went on tour last summer I had to go. After I went, I really regretted spitting out the de niro to see them. The band is cooked when it comes to live performances.

You obviously don't listen to Bruce Dickinson.

Kiss my ass you freakin' sissy. You really thought Journey was going to be good?

    Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    This show will fucking rock!!!

    Kick ass statement:

Rod Smallwood, Iron Maiden's Manager, further commented; "Following Bruce's various hints from on stage this last year about our plans for 2008 ("We are taking some time off to build some pyramids!"), fans have been pestering me for details of the tour and especially asking which songs from that era will be played. That may be as easy as a run in the hills but we will keep our aces close to our chest on this issue. I know it would only take a couple of minutes but at this stage of planning, I'd have to be clairvoyant to know what they will do. I'm sure though it will be no revelation for you that we intend to make up for those wasted years by visiting a large number of hallowed metal venues around the world. Historically 'Powerslave' was an incredibly important album for the band and it would be madness if we didn't give the fans a taste of the full on Iron Maiden show from that time. With our jumbo there really is no rime nor reason why the band cannot now visit fans almost everywhere as many have been real troopers to have waited this long. Heaven only knows what the band will choose but if l could and did tell you now l would have to shoot you! You'll all have to be patient and see. But it will be spectacular. No fear!!"

The really cool thing is that, 25 years after their prime, the band now looks like its mascot.

I last saw Maiden in 1985 or 1986 -- my penultimate British metal show. As I recall, it was pretty good. At very least, it kicked the living crap out of Ozzy with Metallica opening, which I saw in spring 1986.

I'm still holding out for an Accept reunion, though.

My big sister took me to see Maiden back in like 85 or 86? I remember Molly Hatchet opened. Dad got pissed because he told her not to take me, but she did anyway. Scarred for life after that, but in a good way. She also took me to see Ozzy- Bark at the Moon. I still have all of the vinyl from back in the day.

And yeah, the paragraph with clues to what they will play sent shivers up my spine! Bringing back the Powerslave set!? Time to pull out the old t-shirts

Powerslave came out when I was in 10th grade, just in time for my English class to read Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Two of us read it with air guitar and drums. 'Nuf said.

You need to post the set list after the show. I'm sure they will play "run through the hills", "the trooper". I would also like to see a photo of the stage if you can manage. I picture a god size Eddie!!!!

You are a lucky bastard and I cannot believe someone compared Journey with Iron Maiden.

I must've listened to way too much Maiden, that actually made sense.

Back in college, we had Iron Maiden Hour every Tuesday night at 10-11.

Tuesday was the only day that wasn't an official party or recovery day in college, so we figured we would fix that. Starting at 10, the album was started- from the exact spot it left off the week before. Out came the beers and bongs and whatever else we had. After one full hour to the minute of absolute mayhem, the album was stopped, and we got back to studying(yeah right).

I have e-mailed everyone I still know from those days. Needless to say, they are all stoked.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Granted, Niel Schoen is a pretty good guitarist, but stillBWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

You're comparing a band that always has sucked to a band that used to be fucking great and I'd still see today if someone gave me tickets. BTW - so the Journey show wasn't so great - how was the rest of the County Fair?

Rocking out to 'hallowed be thy name' right now! Fucking great! I'm in. I hope they play denver.

I gotta figure out how to go to a metal show without getting wasted and breaking a bone. The last two (metal) shows I've broken a hand and a foot. I'm not that violent I just get excited and do stupid shit.

    Eddie !!!

I'd go see Iron Maiden again , 30 years later, hell yeah.
Bruce went on to be a commercial pilot, pretty cool and now back to tour again.
Steve Perry is a pussy, Neil Schon, not so bad.

If there was a Denver show, I'd go. Puerto Rico, but no Denver. Damn.
