    TR CH - Saas-Fee: All this 4 only 62CHF ($51) !

    April 21/22
Snow above mid-station Morenia (2500m) in great shape.
Plenty of corn to harvest up higher.
By 11 AM the boilerplate softened and the pistes were in great shape.
The action in the snowparks was in full swing.

Pinch myself when realizing the ticket price vs skiable/hikable terrain.
View East from Langfluh towards "notch" between Egginer & Kamel

View West from the "notch" (btwix Egginer & Kamel) towards Langfluh & the Taschhorn & Dom ridgeline.

Sunday - skipped the ticket and started at 6:30AM. Hiked from village (1500m) to mid-station 4 a cafe & nussroll.
Continued on to Britannia Hutte 3030m for Coke & picnic inside. Sun was brutal !
Manicured trail runs from "notch" to Britannia Hutte.

Look back at "notch" and SE face of Egginer 3367m. Rock-hound's paradise!

Brit Hutte 3030m. French, Italian, German, & English spoken here.

View from Brit Hutte towards Moro Pass (Italy). Italians on the way up.

View from Brit Hutte towards Strahlhorn 4190m. On my short list.

Saas-Fee is a slam-dunk bargin. Always worth a week in March or April if you got skins & crampons.
    Better hurry, closing soon!

You think you're iskibc, goldenboy or Trackhead.

1st ya bitch on me, when I drag U up a crevassed glacier and try to do some easy scrambling to reach the ridge proper... And now you plan on skiing that one down

    CO, Utah, Tahoe.

nothing in the continental USA compares to access provided for the $ spent.

u have the wrong summit indicated.
that is Rimpfischhorn 4198m. no thanks, and better to approach from other side...me thinks.

Strahlhorn is in the center touched by that tiny cloud. a long hike, but lower angle approach.

    the_finge - little harsh don't ya think?
sorry, 4 the bitchin', but when we were punching thru mid-morning crust up to our knees on those ice bridges that is when i decided it was time to descend.

u should be thanking me. i was right in choosing that 2nd day approach along the right hand walls.

that 1st day attempt thru the center ended up in "cluster-f**k-ville".

bit of bad luck came our way. the 2nd wk in August 2006 and who would have expected a 30 - 50cm snowfall a few days before we started!?!

great time, though! always remember it. thanx!!!
