TR - Making the Best of IT - Tahoe
Normally wouldn't post a TR of this average everyday kinda BC trip , but with all the negative comments about tahoe latley from the masses ("glacial hardpack" , "given up hope that we will ski pow again this year" , "you have to walk down the BC runs" and "I love cock in my ass") , I thought a little stoke could be used.
There is great pow out there on high north and east faces , like Sierra Cement knows.
Hit squaw in the morning and rode the firm stuff , had a blast caning it around for a couple of hours , then left to do some work. Later I headed for my usual evening BC trip.
Skinning across a frozen lake towards my intended ski destination
Powy across the lake
Looking up at intended target from newly abandoned secret facility
The skin track up was nice pow
About two and a half feet down to the nearest hard snow
Nice to see the sun at the top and the lake. Snow was looking really good.
ahhh yeah , really soft nice pow that skied very well.
Caught a nice sunset with Ward peak on the way out..
All in all a nice day out in the BC , better than sitting around complaining about how bad everything is!

nice!
honestly with all the TRs coming out of CO lately, those conditions look pretty similar to those I've been skiing most of the season here in CO. Recycled pow, check. Skiing through pine needles blown out of the trees, check.

Nice TR. And it is a lot better than sitting around complaining about the weather.

Nice! The best thing about this cold weather is at least it's keeping the snow nice for a while....as opposed to normal CA conditions where the pow is too heavy after a day or two.
Thanks for the stoke!

Now that is nice......so nice that you should ignore my angst in Snow Conditions forum. Here's hoping for lots more of it! BC after work though - oh to live amongst real mountains.

Haha.....if that's your normal evening bc trip, I'd bet money we've run into each other at some point. There are a few split boarders I've seen more than once. When the snow's better, I used to be up there a few times a week either before or after work.
Depending on how long ago, I was on a split board or a pair of gotamas.
And it still sucks that the main pocket/bowl has so many of those boulders showing.Last edited by kidwoo; 01-18-2007 at 12:08 PM.
