I only know of 2 deaths, and both died young. I attribute our longevity to co-op beer being closely related to embalming fluid.

We are staying in Playhouse Square. I’ll budget a bit over an hour. Or leave early in the AM, and hit a diner once we are out of downtown.
Nice! Playhouse Square is the biggest theater district in America outside of Broadway. Well worth it to see what’s playing. I haven’t been yet, but everyone I’ve talked to up there says you have to eat at Cordelia on East 4th which is walking distance for you. Apparently it’s not too fussy/fancy but was named one of the best new restaurants in the US this year. https://cordeliacle.com/

Oh, man, we are so bummed that place Cordelia looks AMAZING, but we are only there for Monday, and they are closed.
Any other hot tips?
Thats too bad, Ive heard nothing but great things about Cordelia.
Some other suggestions:
Cross the Hope Memorial Bridge (the one directly in front of Jacob's Field with the Guardians statues on it) to Ohio City neighborhood and wander around West Side Market and grab whatever looks good.

Grab some of the best craft brews in the country across the street at Great Lakes Brewing Company (their food is good too)

I have always loved L'Albatros in University Circle, a small french brasserie. Call them first to make sure theyre open on Mondays but I think they are as I recall having lunch there on a Monday on a recent trip.

Not sure if a cocktail is on the agenda but you can't beat Porco Lounge for a fantastic tiki barhttps://porcolounge.com/or Velvet Tango Room for a great cocktailhttps://www.velvettangoroom.com/
If you want the best bakery you've had maybe outside of New York (if that it's still close) a 10 minute drive up Cedar to Cleveland Heights to On The Rise is an absolute must. European bakery that serves the most amazing pastries, sandwiches, sweets and savories, breads and coffee. Always a line out the door which is a testament. The drive up (take Park or Fairmount) will take you past street after street of incredible mansions and gilded age architecture too which is nice.

Zhug in Cedar-Fairmount is incredible middle eastern

Next door is Vero which makes really good wood fire pizza and small Italian bites
Cent's Pizza in Ohio City gets a lot of buzz

Lots of people like Mia Bella in Little Italy

Gochujang in Playhouse Square is a little casual Korean street food spot that's good
Sichuan Hotpot in Asiatown is a favorite of mine. I actually want some now typing that.

Slyman's Deli has the best (and biggest) corned beef sandwiches and is nearby to you as well - there's a few but the original is downtown.

If you need a quick bite or groceries walk from your hotel to Heinens (it's also probably the prettiest grocery store I've been in - a 1900 bank)

Damn, BMills, thanks for taking the time for these suggestions. LMK if you ever need suggestions for JH, Golden, or Perú!
No sweat man, had a moment to kill earlier and it was a fun exercise. Have a good trip and hope you get some good food.

BMills--love the grocery store inside an old bank. The popup orthodox synagogue the immigrants from my grandfather's shtetl set up for the High Holidays was in the lobby of a bank in downtown Detroit. One can draw one's own conclusions about why old banks looked like European churches and synagogues. And now apparently we worship food.
Well, food and all of our devices, of course.

I don't know about that. Apple stores look like ER's, not houses of worship. Makes sense, since our phones are making us sick.
