Maybe but at least I'm not a pussy.
I question all authority and if big corporate business is f-ing myself and others over I believe it's fine to take back a little. If that makes me a moron than fine, I don't give a flying F what you think cuz you are indeed a pussy.dirtbag, not a dentist

Actualy i spent > 20 years in the POS/retail/ banking environment so I would be in and out of several doz stores & banks to keep their HW running. These places knew me and i knew them so usually to get into the server room or find a manager I would be walking into the back like i owned the place, i was just the HW guy walking past the darkened closet sized room with door open where I would see banks of a doz TV screens with the loss-prevention guy watching the public and i was in those places so often i would recognise the loss prevention dude walking around right away cuz he was always there peeking around a stack of products, I knew he was working so we ignored one another, so i would watch them watching the public, every Walmart had a small wire screen lockup in the back and there always seemed to be someone in it
SO I know they were watching and i'm pretty sure they still are
I think if you steal something much bigger you are more likely to get away with it
edit: I have often thot about the concept that I could never do the petty crime or any crime bcuz everybody would know meLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

No one is watching a self check out area at a little Safeway in the middle of bumb fuck small town USA. These places are barely staffed anymore.
I'm not going in with intentions to rob them but if something won't scan I don't feel badly about tossing it into a bag.
They are robbing us, that's a fact so a little f-em here and there feels pretty good honestly.
Most people on this forum don't have any problems paying the bills and are out of touch what it's really like for those of us that don't have much. that's ok, I get it but you really can't relate.dirtbag, not a dentist

If you happen to have a Grocery Outlet near you, they are worth checking out. I'm amazed at how good some of their prices are.

This
1. There’s a scale under the bagging area. The unit weight of each sku is in the system. If something goes around the scanner into a bag, the scanner will stop until you get the weight right.
2. OP is sticking it to the wrong man. It’s the producers and distributors who are profiting from the supply chain fuckery, not the retailer. Unless it’s some douchebag grocer (ex. Rapesas discussed above) with no competition and a wealthy tourist clientele.

The petty theft flameout angle is the least interesting flameout I think I’ve seen. It’s not controversial. It’s not hard.
Fuck off and stfu, raisingarizona. You lose this one. Maybe we’ll sorta forget over time.focus.

I remember. Food stamps and scrounging at yea auld commons tray return. Hiking Mt. Hood Meadows due to lack of chairlift funds. Hitchhiking a lot. Dealing to make ends meet and pay tuition. Planting trees in the rain for weeks on end.

No need to leave food retailers off the list. They are having a great time increasing margin using inflation as cover. Greed and opportunism knows no bounds. As mentioned above consolidation has been and will continue to reduce competition resulting in higher prices. For example Albertson's/Kroger.
"The Federal Trade Commission today sued to block the largest proposed supermarket merger in U.S. history—Kroger Company’s $24.6 billion acquisition of the Albertsons Companies, Inc.—alleging that the deal is anticompetitive."

Market Basket fucking RULES!! I live in Savannah now and Im being held hostage by Publix. I can go to Whole Foods and do better than Publix. $11.00 for a large jar of Hellman's mayo? Fuck that. Whenever Im back in MA/NH I load up on Market Basket cheese puffs and Cain's mayo. MB is a good blue collar supermarket with good prices. +1 on Market Basket and DeMoulas.

Situation in Canada is similar to US…other than milk

Profit margin for actual grocery retailing is still tiny. As always, the shampoo etc & pharmaceuticals is what makes the real profit.Know of a pair of Fischer Ranger 107Ti 189s (new or used) for sale? PM me.

My bad….total rookie move and pulling my raised in NH status, it’s Demoullas not Market Basket.
I remember the strike thing they had some years ago. That was insane!
