Substitute for 2010s Haestra Fall Line Glove

I love the old fall line glove but now they have removable liners and weird stiff cuffs. What sized articulated gloves is everyone loving these days?

Apparently free the powder discontinued the freeride series which I use after using hestra for a long time. So that sucks. I also have the free the powder gloves with the removable liners and really don’t like them as much.

I bought a hestra leather race glove a few years back as it was the closest thing i could find to the old seth gloves. only downside for me is it comes with the sewn in hand protection

If you’re in Canada, you probably know Kombi. They’ve now got some Hestea level stuff.

I picked up a pair of the Loaded three fingers a couple years ago, and I’ve been very impressed with them.

I’ve also got FTP’s, Hestra’s and Burton stuff as well.

You want the Vertical Cut C-zone glove. No liners! Warm. Dexterous as f**k

Still the best glove on the market.

Any reason we don’t like glove liners on the fall line? Have some Seth Morrisons and fall line mitt with removable liners, in my experience the minor loss in articulation makes up for the glove being far easier for layering and drying out.

cause liners suck. End of story. Between my FTP bc gloves and my freeride 3 finger mitts there is no need for anything else. I’ve been in 30 below with 40 mile an hour winds and have had no issues. Full leather is also the best part. Being able to re-waterproof is a big deal. It’s pretty much come down to the fact that company’s build something amazing and then realize the product will never need to be replaced so they stop making it because why sell something just once when they can sell something shitty every other year. Hestra’s price is insane compared to other companies that make comparable products.

In my experience, using (FTP SX) otherwise identical gloves with and without removable liners, there is no meaningful difference in how they feel or function (how could there be?), but that having removable liners makes them (occasionally when it matters) faster to dry, easier to wash the only part that needs washing, and means I can swap out light weight liners for mild conditions. What’s not to love?

Yeep. My RX3 Pro lobsters are awesome! That combined with the BC, which I wear 90% of the time is complete 2 glove quiver. Removable liners are clutch in the RX3 Pro.

I am a big fan of removable liners. Take them out and clean them.

yeah I like removable liners cuz easier to wash and sometimes I've put a different liner in a mitt

Mostly I use an Auclair glove with a big cuff which is pretty cheap pretty warm, a BD glove with liner not that warm, a BD without liner its nicely made but not that warm, an MEC taped gortex Mitt shell with various liners is probably the warmest depending on config

Nothing keeps me particulaly warm so i buy toe warmrs by the pack to stick in my gloves but thats just me

I don't think you can draw big generalization, its just what works for you

thanks for the info. my hands run warm and it's really more of a sizing/ articulation thing... removable liners are bulky around the wrist where the liner is attached to the glove with velcro etc.

i ended up getting a pair of flylow gloves that seem to be nice. Not as nice as the old Haestras but they're working okay. thick leather in the palms which is half the battle.

I have these and they are fantastic, but quite warm so I only wear them on the coldest days. I sized up from 10 to 11 and prefer the fit on this model. Black is on sale at evo https://www.evo.com/gloves/hestra-ve...er-gloves-.jpg

    Leki patrol 3D?

Recently borrowed a set of the lobster version and thought they were a super nice glove.

Would definitely buy a pair except I much prefer gauntlet style gloves.

I've been pretty happy with Truck gloves the last few years (M1 or M1-pro if you want full leather). The right amount of insulation for 90% of my skiing up to the point where I'd switch to mittens, and really dextrous. Plenty durable and price is right.

Not quite as warm as the Fall Line. I also size down for better dexterity (10 in Fall Line, 9 in Titan Flex).

FYI, REI has the 5-finger version on clearance in remaining sizes: https://www.rei.com/product/225070/l...7&gad_source=1

They also have the slightly cheaper (and slightly less leather) "Copper S".

I'm a Hestra 10 and the Leki 10 fit me very well and had a ton of dexterity. Felt super premium.

Nice deal, but shipping to canada is dumb. If anyone is ordering, and hits free shipping, and will re-ship to me in banff, alberta, message me?

Big fan of M1 Pro and Storm Mitten. Similar to Kinco/Flylow but better dexterity and nose wipe. Usually run decent offseason sales.
