Smith helmet - replace goggle bungee?

Mrs C has a Smith Vantage helmet, and the bungee cord goggle strap holder is on its last legs. Does the upper part that holds the bungee in place detach so I can replace that little bungee cord? If so, how?

Great question. I have the same problem with a couple of older Smiths that are otherwise very functional. I've looked around on this myself and never found a solution.

Pop the grey piece off the top section. Allen screw under there. I replaced it with a black hair tie. Maybe a 5 min fix, still holding up well two years later.

Smith has lifetime warranty. Call them and the will send you a new bungie and cover for the back. I did this for all my kids helmets. They'll even send you a new liner if yours is getting funky.

Awesome. Fixed it in a couple minutes with a hair tie. Mrs C is happy. Thank you!
