The LURK is making a comeback

Why have two poles. When one is enough

Or. The kids were right. No poles is better

Aluminum just doesn't break like carbon does, and they are lighter than my carbon adjustable. Win, win.

I also only use rental poles, cut to 118cm in bounds because I abuse the shit out of them and broke poles every year before that, so I might not be the best use case.
Amen on the rental poles, I swear they use a thicker wall since they hold up soooo much better than any other poles I've owned (which most were pwned)

I used bike bar tape for the foot down from my poles. I like it so I can grab the pole and it’s not frozen

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

    Big fan.

I just never really adjust my poles - so why bother having adjustable poles.

up - put hands on top of poles.

    Sidehill - use foam grip

Skiing down - hold as you would.

I probably run a bit shorter than may be optimal for the skin, but it doesn't seem to change my pace. It is slow and taller poles don't make if much faster and shorter don't make it slower)

Only have one season on them so can't comment on durability but no sign of issues yet.

I am simple man (or simpleton depending on who you ask) and I like simple gear- so these work for me.

Agreed, they are great poles. Pricey if you can't find a deal. I don't think I'll ever go back to adjustable 3-piece poles, I really like the simplicity and durability of the one piece. I only use them for hooman powered skiing.

I prefer the Black Crows version because they’re more like dildos. The carbon ones are larger diameter if you’re a “gaper”

They are the best ice beating tool, besides a 36” axe handle of course. But they do a knock up job on clearing icy tree limbs.

Yes. They pretty light and stiff, like a Scott Series 4. The round grip is nice once you’re used to it, never worry about orientation. They’re really easy to sink in the snow even when it’s crusty. I’ve even used them as an anchor lower myself off one ledge to another in sketchy exposed spot(not like an ice axe but passable).

The grip is too long, it’d make my hands look smaller.

I have duos and like them a lot, but round grip makes it harder to flip the risers on the heels. I recall Cody making his own tooth for this purpose.

These look neat, mostly for the made in Revy aspect. Come in 2 piece and 3 piece for the splitdawgs. Don't think the 3piece break down as compact as the BD z style poles, which are nice because you can stick them entirely in the pack rather than strapped to the outside.

I’m probably not going to use them, but I love how these small entrepreneurs are finding and exploiting the niche.

Wasn’t there a whole bit last year with Cody using a set of padded poles on The Fifty?

Got a lot of attention if I remember, and he even did a separate video talking about it.
