I think someone gave me a pair of those in the late 80's, and I threw them in the trash.

I had red Citations. Looked cool, skied horrible.. Ditched them for Nordica Comps because Spademan butterflies didn't work well with Hanson soles.. Best transition ever... Skiing instantly got much better with GOOD boots.

Thats all greek to me(no pun intended/rear entry). I did see a guy in rear entry nordicas with some old straight super skinnies the other day. Some funky dgaf setups out east im seeing. No doubt his binders were waaay behind indemnification. At the same time one of the regular og's in revy alternates between his full tilts snd his sx91's. Ive given up thinking he's just breaking in his fulltilts and alternating until theyre broken in. He's there most everyday bell to bell. I can see the appeal. I want some hojis for that reason

I had a pair of Spyders. Red with the black widow on the front. Just remember they were the coldest boots I've ever owned. Comfort left something to be desired as well.

Full Disclosure... If I ever come across a pair that's even close to fitting in a thrift shop for $5 I'll buy them. I have a pair of split tails I'd love to ski them in for an hour just for old time retro laughs.

I had some in gun metal grey.
    Not sure which model.
Also thought they were cool, but definitely sucked.

    3k seems steep.

Are they including a 50 gallon barrel of silicone spray to help put them on ? Nothing like trying to slide your feet into cold grippy rubber.

I had forgotten that, yup silicon spray was essential to booting up. Put them on one fall and the liners completely fell apart. I was so happy

Yup, the wax in the bladders cracked and the black rubber liners got all gooey and kind of melted.

Recalling these artifacts always makes me feel very old. Never had the rear entry or knee high boots but I did have the binding equivalents: plate fucking bindings

No more shin bang because the boot goes up to your knee! Nordica and K2 made tall boots that solved the problem of boot top fractures by moving the injuries to the joint above

We've still got Hanson buckles rattling around in the parts drawer. I refuse to throw them away.

Fun Fact: the man behind Hansons is also the man behind the Apex exo-skeleton boots currently on the market...the ones with a snowboard style boot that fits inside a plastic exterior frame.
