Cheapest way to fix Fox RP23 with no rebound damping

My old Cannondale Rush was pulled out of the basement after a long hiatus , and while the bike is in pristine shape as I upgraded or replaced a bunch of stuff before mothballing it,
there was oil leaking around the RP23 propedal lever and the shock is a total pogo stick, with the rebound knob doing nothing. Otherwise the shock holds air and looks to be in great shape. I would like to get this working , but given the age and dated parts on this bike don't want to put a ton of money into it. Some internet research suggests that the nitrogen charge leaked into the damping oil and it needs a rebuild now.

Cheapest option is probably buy another RP23 off of ebay. Looks like they're going for ~$75, whereas a rebuild is probably at least $150, maybe more.

Only complication is that it's a cannondale, so there's a 70% chance that it requires some weird unobtainable shock size.

Ha, yeah it is of course, but in this case it's manageable. It's a 7.5 x 1.75, but a 2.0 stroke will usually work or it's super easy to put a small volume reducer in the air can to make it a 1.75 stroke.

Having said that, I don't see any 7.5 eye to eye ones on ebay at the moment

Pretty sure the old 2006ish Stumpjumper had the same size shock. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t anything too crazy size wise either.

Look for an xfusion o2 or RS monarch in that size...

Or you could even gamble with an off brand Amazon $40 shock in as close of a size as you can get...
