So I got invited to join a group heading to Bill Putnam hut/Fairy Meadows this winter (Early March). I’m super stoked. It’s also my first time in a helicopter, or staying in a BC hut.
I’m pretty experienced backcountry skier and have done a few local PNW hut trips. So I know what lessons I’ve learned from those trips. But this feels like a new frontier. Since I may not get another shot at this type of trip, I want to do it right.
What did you learn on heli-hut trips in BC that you’d wish you’d known before hand? Clutch gear? Packing strategies? Group organization approaches? Drop some knowledge on me!
