Glen you just joined the forum, try and contribute elsewhere besides just the gear swap section. This is a great community that truly is more than just gear swap. I would be surprised if any mags reach out to you for this request. But best of luck.

I've been a member for a year. Just because I don't post much doesn't mean I don't utilize the forum. To the top right is a search bar.....that's my go to. I don't see a need to post a bunch of useless BS just so I have a high post count.

The flip side is there are long term members here who don't give 2 shits about appreciation for cutting good deals for them (my experience with a couple, but not most). OP seems like a good dude, some long timers seem like total assholes. I'm not a long timer, but probably an asshole, ha.

So do you base it on time that they are a member, or whether or not they are assholish?

Both but also there is a strong correlation with how many nekkid pictures they post in the padded room... that being said agree OP did not come off like an asshole to me either.

I sure as shit hope the winter products they make are better than the summer stuff. All the shorts I’ve purchased from them have buttons that fall off, logos that peel off within a month, and I have warrantied numerous articles of clothing.

Arc honestly has a bomb proof warranty and most everyone that has their pieces love them. My last jacket was a Rush I had it for 4 years then sold it for something with a little bit more room. Have 1 year on my Sabre and loving it. Killer construction over 50 days of hard/tree skiing and it looks brand new.

Re: Stio if you work in the industry (sounds like you do with being a first responded) you should be able to apply for their industry discount.

Tell me more about the Sabre....do you have there pants as well? My first choice was Arc then started looking at Freeride Systems since they are local but there mostly sold out at the moment and there color schemes of whats left dont work for me. I HATE buying stuff due to a color but dammit Im paying big money and have to wear it.

Dont work in the industry....I work for the Dept of Corrections which pins us as LEO.

Ski, I have no dog in this race and the 2 pieces of Arc that I own have been great, but as everything there is always a diff opinion... There is a whole thread with several bitching about Arcs poor warranty service... Now in that thread there are those that defend them, but several bitch about the warranty going to shit over the past couple of years...

I've had good experience with Outdoor Research and they have the best warranty in the business.

If I remember that thread correctly it seemed like the issue originated from sales in euroland. I have warrantied two pieces over the last 3 years. First was he powderskirt in the Rush (ripped off the jacket when washing it - user error I didn’t zip the jacket) they relaminated and sent it back free of charge. And the other was a zipper on another jacket. Wait time was 6-8 weeks so instead the Denver Arc just popped the till gave me $25 cash and sent me to a local seamstress who fixed it that day.

Re: Sabre. The flannel backing does not provide warmth but I do like how it feels. The storm hood is large enough for a helmet it that’s your deal (personally hate how a hood feels over my helmet). The face fabric is nice and tough. Taken many branches to the chest in the trees and it has shown no wear.

Sizing is nice. I’m 6ft 200# 33” waist. Wear a Large. It’s roomy and can easily fit a large puffer without feeling tight. The back sits nice and low and I have not felt a draft up up my back which was my main complaint about the Rush.

I also have the Sabre pants. On my second pair. They were redesigned last year which is why I updated the old style was weird. The legs did not taper and felt like bellbottoms. The new design tapers slightly and overall the fit is much better. Same bomber face fabric.
