Dalbello Panterra 120 vs 130, Scarpa Freedom 130 vs SL

Looking at getting a resort + sidecountry + very occasional touring boot and the Dalbello Panterra's and Scarpa Freedoms are at the top of the list. Coming from a Lange XC 120 (wider XT) that is probably way too soft (when I flex the boot, the sides bellow out). Probably answered my own question but... is the 130 flex rating on the Scarpa or Dalbello much more than 120. I've flexed the 120 Panterra (and it seems soft) and I don't have access to the other boots. Ski mostly in Tahoe so temps don't get too crazy cold.

Are you used to Cabrio/3 piece boots? They flex much differently than overlap. Might explain the softness you felt in the 120. I bought the panterra but have yet to get them on snow. Carpet feels good though. Coming off a Cochise. Haven't skied a 3 piece boot in 20 years. Kinda can't wait

I bought a Dalbello 3 piece boot a few weeks ago, the Krypton AX 120. Love 'em. To me they seem much more comfortable than 4 piece (previously was skiing on Black Diamond Factor 130). I had not even considered a 3 piece until I tried on the Kryptons but I felt immediately like it worked better for me.

Several years ago I tried on a 130 Scarpa boot and it was waaay stiff. Much more so than my BD 130s. For what it's worth.

Have never skied a 3 piece but have been wanting to try it. Boot seems to fit my feet and loving the volume in the instep.

Good info on the Scarpa stiffness. Thanks!

@skidog - how tall are u? Weight? I’m 5’11” 220 so could be another reason why the 120 feels soft.
