An update for those on the tall pant quest. I just ordered in a few pairs of pants to try and fit my frame. For reference I wear a 35"x36" jean.

Longest to Shortest (I used one of those cloth Tailor's tape measures to measure the inseam from crotch to leg hem):

Arc'teyrx Sabre LT (for lightweight NOT large-tall, I hate that) in size Large-Tall, inseam measured = 35.5". Great pant, not a fan of the trim fit and low rise but I don't notice either as issues when I'm using them touring.

Mammut Stoney HS Pant in 52-Long (which is Euro for 36-Long), inseam measured = 35.5". Less of a trim fit, but I wouldn't say relaxed, slightly more rise but less than jeans. These pants have a brushed fleece like interrior which I like for my resport pant. These were the 2020 version, but near as I can tell all they did was move the pockets. I'm keeping these.

Obermeyer Process Pant in LT (34"-36" x 35"), inseam measured = 34.5". Relaxed fit, with normal jean like rise (not low riders like those above). The length for me was on the limit, and these were an insualted pant. If I wanted insulated I would have kept these, they'll be ruturned for that reason only.

Mountain Hardware Cloud Bank Large-Long (34"-35"x34"), inseam measured = 33". I had high hopes for these pants because I've always felt that MW cut their items on the larger side, not in this case. I found the length to short, no chance these would keep my boots covered in a deep knee bend. Otherwise the fit, rise, materials, and design were great! Disappointed to be sending these back.

Last season I tried two pants from Eddie Bauer, since I've had great luck with their large-tall jackets. EB claims their tall inseam is 33", I don't recall the measurement but based on the fit I'd say that was close to accurate, and to short for me.

    Hope this helps some.

i had high hopes for them, but (according to their size size chart) they are very short, only about 34” in the “long” inseam.

I have several pairs of Mammut softshell pants, including the Base Jump skitouring pants in long inseam, and they are comparable to most brands 36” inseam pants, and waist runs a bit small, so sizing up is an option.

Went to the north face outlet at got long goretex brigantine bibs for $120 on sale ($599 Msrp). They had another pair of Xxl and a pair of L. All in long, 34+ inseam. I have a ~35” inseam and with the bib straps lengthened had plenty of length. Worth checking out if you’re in either size. They have a few outlets around. Burly bibs

Will chip in that Strafe Capital and Strafe Summit were a good length for me at 6-3. I usually go for a 34-36 inseam jean for ref. Lower leg/boot area on the Strafe pant cut is a tad more generous than I’d like, but not ridiculous.

Now for the smallest feet in the thread. These are my 4.5yo, had to say he is 130cm instead of 112cm tall to scan but it worked. Now to find him some new boots, his 16.5 technicas are crushing the top of his feet, what brands run taller? Greg, not sure this is helpful for you but let me know if I need to email you again.

norrona fits tall and thin well but damn!, full pop retail is absurd. On sale is worth tracking down as its well made.

    Adding my experience

    6’-7” tall 200 lbs
    Pant size is 34x36

I have a pair of Norrona loften pants. They are good but an inch or so shorter than I would like.

I just picked up a pair of Flylow chemical pants in a large tall. The waist and length are spot on. The inseam is longer than the Norronas.

Didn't realize they made those in tall. Looks like the baker bibs too, bib version of the chemical pants, nice.

    6'6" 210lbs, 36" inseam
Strafe temerity XL - more than long enough, on the baggier side, require belt.
Strafe nomad bibs XL - Just long enough, maybe a touch short, slimmer than the temerity, restrict motion a little at the end of long strides skinning

Another bump for Mammut. I crashed pretty bad in these pants and put a 3" rip in the outer layer. Emailed Mammut about it and they are sending me a replacement pair. That is great customer service! I mean I crashed and I ripped my pants... here you go have another pair sorry they didn't hold up to your epic stupidity.

Obermeyer offers short and tall sizes in some models, but way cheaper than some others.

Outdoor research (large works for 33-34 inseam), elevenate (longer than OR) and Patagonia are on long side. Elevenate the longest/thinnest. Patagonia gets wide when it gets long. Also picture organic is thin/long.

i have a Mammut Stoney, with fleece liner inside. Old model, with two cargo pockets (WHY THE HELL do they do now pants with just ONE pocket on the leg? what's the reason), and for sure Mammut has Long and Short version of their pants.
Also, as someone suggested brands of Northern Europe are usually longer. I recently pulled the trigger on a pair of Norrona Lofoten Goretex pants. The "PRO" version was too baggy and large, while the "non pro" version was very good. I also heard that the detachable bib (not included anymore with the pants) is tighter while the waist is fine.

Just picked up some OR cirque 2 (softshell) pants in large. They'll work for my 36" inseam, though a little short. Length would not be steezy inbounds, but fine for touring. Have a beacon pocket, fit is somewhere between rando and freeride

I'm 6'4" 195# and the Marmot Spire bibs in XXL are just the right length for me. I'd been concerned when ordering that at a double XL they'd be like clown pants, but they're not overly baggy

My trusty VERY old Mountain Hardwear pants finally bit the dust. I'm 6'3" 225lbs. Wear a 36x34 pant.

I ordered a pair of Mountain Hardwear Firefall 2 pants. Followed the website fit guide and they were waaaaay too small. I also thought they felt cheap and plastic like.

This late in the season, every time I find something with the features I want they don't have my size or they're rainbow camo or some shit. What I want: No insulation- just 2-ply breathable, black or dark grey, some kind of belt or velcro waist cinch, vent zips (my old ones had full leg zips, which I loved), and decent pockets.

What are all you tall kids wearing these days?

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Flylow Magnum or Chemical. Roughly same size as you the XL fits perfectly

Since I posted suggesting Patagonia for long pants I bought a pair of Storm Shift pants in the same Large size and they're shorter and snugger than my old Patagonia pants. Same with the Storm Shift jacket although not as noticeable.

I know it's a bib but I would add Norrona Tamok to this list. Cut and proportions reflect home Scandinavian demographics: I picked up a size Large and my 34 inch inseam is pretty baggy.
