bought some usb-c cables on a whim -- i needed the cables, but didn't need whimsical fun colors per se
ended up buying some chinese shit...direct ship from factory took a long time; one cable actually works, one just doesn't work in any capacity. They did show up; they look like what I ordered, but now that i googled them: a lot of criticism online
tried the customer service contacts to return per their published return policy...both addresses provoked a blocked email response for "virus".
i had FW'ed the order email in that missive...now i wonder what virus-y shit is in my gmail cuz i didn't have any viruses embedded from my end...sigh, resending the request for return/refund without the attachment...not expecting much at this point

Your time is worth so little to you that you are chasing down an online international <$20 refund? I mean, the ski conditions arent looking great here either, but damn.

True but it would be nice if Amazon weeded out the fake shit. If assholes like Bezos could stand to be a little less rich they would stand a chance of going to heaven after a few millenia in purgatory.

When we were in Big Sky they were having a convention of rocket scientists talking about Mars. I don't know if any of them made it onto the hill--the meetings seemed to go on all day--not your usual early morning and late afternoon doctor convention stuff.

Yeah, that's how every engineering convention I've been to is like. Your days are pretty much completely taken unless you simply skip a good part of the program. You need to tack on a couple days afterward to actually do anything fun.

The last lawyer convention I went to in big sky had the early morning / late afternoon schedule, but as best I could tell, maybe 5% of attendees actually went skiing. So maybe the scheduling concessions for the skiers aren't really worth much. Kinda why I stopped bothering with going to those things.

Doctors ski. And don't give a fuck if they learn anything, as long as they check the CME box. At Alta one year the CME elgible course was stress reduction for health professionals. Although these days you have to figure out some culturally aware angle to it.

Our departments ours on a doctors meeting at canyons base area. Early morning late afternoon schedule. Near as I can tell everyone skis. Used to be at Snowbird but people got stuck Iin the canyon to often.

Anyway, I was at Snowbird today and a snowboarder side slipped the whole run while texting and never looked up…until they ran a kid down byvyhe mid gad restaurant . Fucking tool. Ski patrol watched it happen and was escorting him off he hill when I skied away. That is a fucking annoying dude.

We went to Snowbird for a dental conference years back. Wife sat in class all day while I skied powder. Work paid for a nice room at the Cliff Lodge. That was a pretty sweet trip.

I work with a bunch of smart folks. Most easily 20-ish years younger than myself.

They are all fucking geniuses on their phones, but are all clueless about doing anything on our work desktops. All of our charting, docs notes, med stuff, etc. Constantly asking me how to do/find/etc.

Did that at Whistler with the American Educational Institute. One dude ‘supervised’ the 45 minute video class at 8am. My wife showed up, checked in, then was told she could go.

Saw the same guy working as a Patroller later in the day. I commend that.

    Fucking ATT annoys me.
Upgraded my phone last week and the sales rep decided to add on a contract for repairs of my devices other than phones and tablets (TV and laptops I guess).
For the low cost of only $25/month
Didn’t bother to tell me either. Found out when I got a confirmation email.
