    GoPro helmet mount location

I just got my gopro in the mail, and I don't know where to mount it. I want a chest mount, but I can't afford it, so I'm going to mount it on my helmet for now. My only problem is that I don't know where. I want my hands/poles and skis in the shots, something like this:

So if anyone can tell me where I should stick it, like at the top of the helmet or more towards the front, that would be great. Thanks!

If you want shots like that.. why don't you just plan on mounting it like that person... you can see in the second shot of the clip exactly how it's mounted by their shadow.

it isn't all just where you mount it but what setting you choose. r4 is 960p which is 4:3 aspect ratio; the same as r2/3 (16:9) but with the added top and bottom 'cut off' black sections that make it wide screen. The video you posted is r4, which is why you can see more vertical. Here's an example of r3 I made straight from the forehead, where you get wide screen but less poles/skis:

picture the black parts of youtube being picture as well.. you'd get poles/body/more sky. But you lose the widescreen and 60fps of r3.

Bumping this old thread. In the latest TGR movie, I'm pretty sure I saw Ian Mcintosh or Sage Cattabriga-Alosa with a GoPro mounted under the visor of their full-face helmet. Anybody do this? Did they mount upside-down and invert the image in post-processing? I usually ski with a full face, as I had reconstructive jaw surgery last summer, and it would be nice to mount the GoPro in a more secure location.

Also: any word on the Hero vs Hero2? Only difference seems to be the still photography: 11 megapixels vs the old 5. Surely there's more to it than that?
