    Whistler Edge card question

Hey, I am going to see that predicted snow this weekend in Wjistler and am trying to figure out what's better for two: direct rent + Edge card, or Whistler's own early season package (~ $141 / day / person all said).

It seems that if my friend buys a 1 day Edge card, she gets the first day at $77 and subsequent days at $68? Does that make sense? This seems cheaper than buying a 3-day card (per day), but then this is early season.

As for me, I have an older Edge card. I know I can reuse it, but at which rate? Do I go straight to the $68/day rate?

I know WB customer service can answer this. They're closed, though, and I am trying to book tonight.

    Thanks!

Yes, right now you will save $6 by buying a 1-day card and getting a discount instead of buying the 3-day.

It doesn't matter that you have an older card, you still pay the same as someone buying a new card. It just means you speed up the whole process since you can reuse the card and don't need a new photo.

Check the website under last-minute accommodation, and you can get a room for $99 a night. Do the math. Two card discounted lift tix + $99 room is less than $141/pp/per night.

So when I reuse my card, I don't go straight to the $68 rate? I first need to decide whether I want to 'fill' it as a 1 day or whatever for the new season?

I've done the (rough) math, and yes, even a nice 1 BR off Allura direct was cheaper than the site's deal. Thanks to you the math can now be more accurate. (I think I found the "last minute hotel deals" page at http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/res...l-deals.search is that correct? Just asking, as as of now the cheapest is $109for a studio; no hotel room)

Like all skier cards the Edge card expires at the end of the season, so you have to "buy" it again with at least one prepaid day. You can't just start using it to get the $68 ticket.

The $99 rooms are usually Sun to Thu nights, if you are trying for the weekend then $109 is actually really good. And a studio means you get a kitchen.
