    Boreas > Ullr

Sorry guys but your all wrong.

Boreas - Greek god of the north wind, bringer of winter weather. His daughter is Chione, the goddess of snow. In order to get in bed with the daughter, one must please the father.

Ullr - Scandinavian god of glory and justice. He just happens to own skis.

Skadi, norse goddess of winter, is really the one to make offerings to as she represents winter's elemental power. Ullr is actually more of a god of the hunt and is commonly symbolized with a bow and skis. Thus, he is the patron god of skiers and all who braved the snow to survive.

"Goddess" of winter presents an issue as far as pictorial offerings go. This place is enough of a sausage fest as it is.

Exactly... so we present offerings to her dad Boreas, who brings winter weather.

I don't know about the right way to treat those greeks gods; are we going the right way about it? Thinking that the Greeks gave up offerings to appease Boreas for favourable winds and clear weather . . . maybe we need to piss him off in order to get our desired effect. Same with his daughter - maybe we treat her in such a way to get the 'cold shoulder' effect. Esp. considering the greeks aren't known for ski traditions - seems there was already a monopoly on Mt Olympus parties . . .

However, I'm fairly certain that Ullr gets the idea regarding our offerings - he's on skis already!

They are Norse, not Greek gods. I dont think it snows enough in Greece to warrant a god

Agreed. Boreas' other nickname is "The Devouring One". So badass.

They are Greek gods. There are four different wind gods in Greek mythology, each representing a cardinal direction. Boreas is the god of the North wind, the wind that brings winter weather to greece. In northern Greece there are mountains taller than 1600m, high enough for a seasonal snowpack
