    Hallway carpet runners?

I know, kind of a lame topic but I needs advice. I have a 3' x 14' hallway. I want to get a single runner for the whole length but it doesn't need to span the complete width of the hall. Problems I am facing is all the ones I find have some stupid pattern and are crazy expensive. I'm not looking to put a $800+ runner down for hallway traffic.

So does anyone have a good source on pretty plain and relatively cheap runner carpet? Even a more industrial one would be OK as long as it isn't too rough. Just need something to go down so I stop scuffing up the hardwood.

    thanks

Maybe call a remnant shop and see if they can cut something for you (and stitch up the sides so it doesn't run.)

Most carpet comes in 12' wide rolls. If that would work, go to Home Depot or a carpet store, pick a carpet on the roll, and have them cut a piece 2'6" or whatever. Indoor/outdoor or industrial type carpets won't run on the cut ends...

We had leftover carpet from our living room. My buddy, the carpet installer, took the leftover to a seamstress and she cut them to our desired dimensions...2 2x3 and 2 3x4. She stitched a similar colored border and shazam - great rugs by the slider and garage door. I'm sure same could be done for a runner since they are redonkeylous expensive.

FLOR tiles would work, and some of the patterns aren't super pricey...I don't think.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

wow - that's some seriously ugly shit, Bags.

Advres - you want the crazy pattern stuff because it hides traffic dirt better than solid colors. Trust me. There are many companies that will make runners by the foot - usually around $20/ft. $200 is not too much to spend.

You'll never see a traffic pattern on this: http://www.rugsexpress.com/rugs/anti...y/19012/0.html
