    Porcupine Reservoir- UT. Been There?

Looking for some info on Porcupine reservoir as far as camping/swimming goes. It looks like there is a national forest road that skirts along the outside of the lake with potential for some nice waterfront sites.

Just looking for some water and a little elevation to escape the heat this weekend and hoping to avoid crowds. Open to other suggestions as well.

    Thanks

Learned to swim my Dane there.

There are no recreational facilities at the reservoir
and only primitive camping is available at the reservoir.
Most areas for camping are located below the dam in the
    canyon
    .

    Link is about water quality.

Head up the canyon to find a nice out of the way spot. Been a few years since I was there.

I was holding off going there until I had confirmation that there was no macrophytic growth and that the phytoplankton community is dominated by the presence of green algae and diatoms associated with fairly good water quality.

    Thanks Buzz!

If you're looking for places to camp I've got quite a few written up on my site. I haven't worked on the site in quite a while so some info may be dated, but there's still plenty of info there.
