    Heroes - Interracial couples

Ok, I'm starting to catch up with this TV Show, Heroes. Quite a good one BTW, now on the second season.
What striking to me are the mixed-raced couples. A black woman is dating two white guys, a blonde woman and her black husband have a son. One of the japanese heroes has a crush on a caucasian girl. So is the dark skinned indian doctor.
This is presented very matter of factly, not as unusual or provocative.
Am I mistaken or is it very new, almost ground breaking, for a mainstream TV Show ?
Usualy, even when the casts are mixed, the black guy always get the black girl, never the blonde one, isn'it ?

inter racial couples always make me smile, even when it's homeboy and a fat white trash white chick.
before we left for Paris last week I had my wife watch an on demand show speedvision with Jason Britton in France with his wife.
Jason is a super nice classy dude.
Hope to meet you the next time we're in France, man. We loved it, despite the metro being on strike, some riots, etc.

Phillippe, inter-racial couples have been on Canadian TV forever, so no Heroes isn't breaking any ground.
Degrassi Junior High/Degrassi High was on TV in France when I first lived there ages ago and it's had all sorts of inter-racial couples.

Kind of in keeping with the Star Trek theme they have going on. In fact maybe Sulu will finally bang Lt. Lawhore.
It's not so much the model year, it's the high mileage or meterage to keep the youth of Canada happy

Interesting that you bring up Star Trek, as the first interracial kiss on US network t.v. was between Kirk and Uhura. (Not a trekkie, just a trivia junkie).

Sounds like you are in the first season of Heroes. I don't watch much t.v., but that show has me hooked. If you miss an episode, you can watch for free a day or two later on NBC.com.

In Canada, maybe, but in the US ? (Degrassi was canadian, right ?) I should have said "mainstream american TV Show".
    And Alien races doesn't count...
