TR: PM Gear World HQ
I was up in Reno yesterday so I took my friend Sue to the PM Gear Intergalactic HQ to meet Splat. She got to order herself some new 169 little Bros and get the full-on, barechested, Splat experience.
Sorry, but I only have two pictures of the event. Note the square, flat tails on the little Bros:

Sue isn't a Maggette yet, but we're working on it. I'm some of you Mt. Rose or Mammoth regulars or UNR grads might recognize her.

Splat isn't IMAX. He's 4D.

Your lady friend needs some work on her alignment... those baby Bros' logos are quite uncentered.

That's half of a pair of blem 169s with the tails cut off. The other one has a red ptex topsheet. We were pressing those the day before Tol left back to Cham when the controls and heaters in the press went nuts and we got all kinds of odd shit from that run. Tol ended up having to cold press the custom pair he made for himself after the heating system finally blew and all we had was air pressure.
I cut the tail tips off at the end of the effective edge and made a pair for whomever they land with. I even thought someone like trackhead might like them for approach sticks. We actually have a lot of different layups we've played with that made some pretty unique skis. I really like how the carbon fiber came out weight-wise on the 192s, but it didn't knock much out of the 179. Waiting to see how both the carbons and those flat tails ski...
