TR: June 6th, Alta Powder:
A day to sleep in (if you're an unemployed freeskier). Rainy rainy rainy day in Salt Lake, canceling everyone's pool, park, climb, and golf plans. But hey what's this? The Alta webcams show powder snow in thar hills. Only one option. Put aside that summer school homework, call a buddy, and make a pot of baked beans, corn, and noodles. Hey, poor freeskiers still gotta eat. I posted a thread in here to see if anyone would go but got no responses from anyone by the time I got out the door. Turns out Gramps slept in too, saw the thread and threw his shit on. He must have started quite a while after us, but nonetheless caught up to us near the top. "Who's this creepy guy catching up to us?" I thought. Gramps. Gramps was the creepy guy.

A party of two becomes a party of three, as Gramps catches us 5 minutes from the top. Good work, my man! WINDY bitch up there. Note Dave's face... Sucks to be downwind of a man fueled by bean corn and noodle slop.

Oddly, the winds on the lower mountain were the worst we had yet encountered. Absolutely horrid! It was blowing straight uphill at like 50 mph, and I only had sunglasses. I think I might have to have part of my forehead amputated.
As we reached the car, xover and trackhead made their arrival. But we had already tagged all the good lines. Sorry guys.

leaving PC at 3am for a uintas dawn patrol tomorrow, currently solo but would love a partner or two, cell is 650-804-2614, i'll be up for the next 45 minutes or so, but i'll check PMs in the morning and call anyone who is interested, but i have to leave PC by 3am, so calls will be made around 2:45, and if you are coming from SLC you should be close already.

Is there really enough base left to ski the shoulder?
How many rocks did you hit? How far back down could you actually ski?
