    FS: Spatulas w/ 997 Equipes

FS: 186cm (duh) Volant Spatulas. Drilled 1X for Salomon bindings at 319mm boot sole; mounting at that same drilling will mean your bindings adjust to fit roughly 310-326mm boots.

    Details
Skis: used twice this year ( El Nino), 15-20 days last year. Edges have some small scuffs, bases ditto -- the largest hit to the bases (anywhere) is in the last photo closeup below (very shallow scuff). No coreshots. Skis are not bent. Skis have never been base ground or run through any machine.

$300 shipped, WITHOUT BINDINGS. $275 for local pickup (Reno/Tahoe). PM me if interested.

    EDIT: SKIS HAVE BEEN SOLD

    Bump. Buy some Spats.

I have to pass on the W105 trade. Way too much quiver overlap for that ski.

How do they hold up on firm snow (BC conditions)? Entertaining the idea of mounting nx21's on some, also, do you need a special jig/bit to drill Volants metal top sheet?

you don't want to ski these in firm snow, but you should buy them anyway.

just got out on kidwoos old spats ( ) this past storm, and i woulda taken them at twice the price. they're like cheating for skiing powder, just effortless. sooooo much fun.

I don't think I'd choose these for a backcountry ski, though do a search here, some have mounted AT bindings on them.

Also don't think you need a special Volant bit, but you would want to be very careful when drilling -- the skis are thin, and you could drill straight through the bottom easily.

This is why I'm selling the Spats w/ the bindings -- much easier for the buyer if his boot fits without needing remounting.

I was under the impression (having never skied a pair) that apart from soft fluffy pow pow, spats did better on firm snow that traditional sidecut skis because there is more lateral edge pressure directly under the boot, no?

if all you want to do is sideslip maybe (although even if you have more pressure, it's a tiny section of edge) . . . but there's still no real way to turn them on snow that you can't sink into.

    imho
