    Sinners and Bill Heath

Like most of you, I rushed to buy Sinners from Bill as soon as it was released, and it was a great film, the best ski movie I have ever seen. But that is only part of the story. Bill has to be one of nicest people and best filmmakers I have ever exchanged words with. That was all my mom could say about him after she ordered them over the phone, and that is all I can say after emailing him and getting a response only a short while later. Sinners is not ski porn, it is ski art, and it inspires me, and makes me realize that above all else I am and always will be a skier. I will be heading out to that part of BC this summer to look at real estate at Red and Whitewater with my parents, while we are there, I will be sure to stop by Bill's office and thank him in person for defining the purpose in my life. If you live in or are going to Nelson, stop by and if you have seen Sinners thank him for this masterpiece. And sorry for the spam, but I have no connection to Bill, but buy a copy of Sinners and watch it. Does anyone agree? I think we need a thread on here dedicated to Red/Whitewater area and this may be it.

yup... Bill is a total class act.
i've spoken to him a few times and exchanged emails. he's actually been the one calling me after i ordered. i think he was afraid that Sinners, being a long-time pet project, wouldn't be received well... that people would expect the usual cut-after-cut of cliff jumps and spins. on top of it all, he genuinely seems like he could care less about making any money on his flicks. he just does it cause he loves it. hopefully, he understands that there's a place for this kind of movie and, hopefully, he makes more.
    Bill rocks!

Bill is a super nice guy, along with being a very creative filmmaker. He is a breath of fresh air in an industry that frankly, I could do without.

I think that his brother must have been raised by a pack of wolves though, definately not the same kind of guy as Bill.

Oh man, its my favorite ski movie. Gets played in the room 5 or 6 times a day. Sometimes just for the soundtrack. I immediately went out and bought a josh ritter album too.

Bill was really cool when I spoke to him on the phone too. Definately need more guys like bill around.

I like it 'cause it's real. I like it 'cause the music is as soulful as the skiing. I like it 'cause it makes me want to ski and makes me believe that I can.

I like Bill 'cause he sent it to me before I paid for it. I like Bill 'cause he told me not to worry about payment (I sent him a cheque). I like Bill 'cause he put so much time and passion into this movie and it shows. I like Bill 'cause he seemed genuinely pleased and stoked when I sent him an email stated all of the above.

    Good work.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and waiting for a Josh Ritter cd to come in the mail),

    Thumbs up

All of this is so true. If you don't have Sinners, you should get it.

When I buy something, I rarely have the sense of satisfaction that I got from buying Sinners-- even before watching it. It just felt good to support something with the degree of personal and artistic integrity that Bill radiates.
    It's idomatic, beatch.

If you want to see some old school, straight skis and neon, buy the box with SYAO2, if not, just get Sinners. Sinners is kind of like Immersion, but even more soul, better music, and less corporate BS. Support Bill!

Give me a call when you get here. I've got one of the nicest lots in Rossland. Smokin' views of town and mountains. Will build to suit.

i guess i'm the only one watching it with the sound off. i really really really liked the vibe from the trailer, mainly due to the music used. now i just throw in some brian eno or hearts of space stuff and get hypnotized.
    fine
