Anybody here ridden the Elizabeth?

I was completely settled on the Atua as my next ski. I'm not a quiver kind of guy. I want one ski that will do it all. The Atua was that ski until I strolled into the Jibij shop in Boulder today. I was talking to Josh about the type of ski I was looking for. He went into the back and brought out his Elizabeths. I hadn't even considered any of the Line skis this season until I saw and flexed this one. It's very different than the Atua, but looks like it could be a whole lot of fun and a decent all-mountain ski.

I've seen a few Elizabeth posts but haven't found any info from anyone that's actually ridden them.

I've skied them, and though i usually ski stuff 10-20cm longer and stiffer, they are pretty fun. FYI, there will be a 182cm version for next year called the Sir Francis Bacon that should be a bit more stable.

SHe rides nice and smooth.

If it were up to me, I'd like to ride her every day, pretty much regardless of conditions. I'd ride her till I couldn't take it any more.

But I'd rather have her ride me.

Skied with a friend this week who has them (I know not my experience but), he finds them too short obviously but other wise ok. Problem is the center mounting of them causes you to get on the front in variable conditions. Also a lot of side cut so good on groomers but interesting on steeps. In the end it's a good park and fun ski but not a great allrounder, they should have figured things out and built the Prophet 100.

Can't speak RE the Elizabeth, but I ride the Atuas and they are great all over the mtn - soft, chop, hard/icey, pipe, cliffs - everything I've taken them to so far they have handle easily.

This is including the high speed run thru the remnants of Patrol's control work (flat light, I didn't know till I bounced over a few 8"x8"x8" chunks of v solid debris!! )

They're stiff enough underfoot that you can ride them through some pretty choppy heavy stuff, even while the tips are deflecting all over the place. It was hard to get used to at first, but the bottom line is that they are pretty stable for as soft as the tips are.

Don't you own a shop? See if you can get a pair of the new version in the 182cm, as I think the length will only add to the stability.

Easy killer. They're short and they have a lot of sidecut. All I did was agree that they didn't sound very versatile as an all mountain ski.

Not really the inverse of people spraying about, and recommending a ski that didn't even exist yet.

Well, if that's the only pair dude has, and he wants to sell them, then I don't know how confident I would be in that.


All I can say is judging by the sidecut, and the length of that ski, I would want nothing to do with it for all mtn. Tail same dimensions as the tip?!? That ski would hate to go straight or fast.

He wasn't trying to sell me his pair. We were talking about next years release. He doesn't have any to sell this year. They were sold out before they took first delivery,with preorders.

Anyhow... I have to say that I agree that, on paper, the ski doesn't make a lot of sense as an everyday, all-mountain ski. However, it's hard to ignore all the folks that have ridden them and swear by them. As always, I guess the only real answer is "demo, demo, demo".

Half right Weibo. Its my understanding that Canadian orders won't be shipped. People who pre ordered in Canuckland are being sent different skis in their place. Its been hard to get staight answers this year.


As far as the Lizzie ski goes... Its a lot of fun. But as Weibo stated I centre mounted it for park and all round jib-foolery. I thought I would be getting the 100's but they aren't coming so I have been using them all mountain. Super fun on the groomers and for medium speed ripping. If you are short, light want something thick underfoot and like to carve hard in all conditions its great. If you like to make a few turns and then staight line to the bottom I would suggest another ski.
Also mine were some of the last pairs produced in Canada. The Chinese production skis may ski different. I really don't know.

Thanks for the info jetski. I like speed, but I'm not straightlining any steeps. The thought of making snowboard-style trenched turns on a ski is pretty appealing to me. Plus, there's a deal to be had on them now. Hmmmmmm.

Trigger pulled. Elizabeth's are winging their way to me, now. If anybody else is interested, the best price I found is $509 at evogear with no tax outside WA and free shipping. Cheapest I found anywhere else was $599.

So... who do I trust in the front range to mount my Rossi 140's to them?
