    Moon Patrol 12-14-05

This time last week we scored these turns on Superior.

Went out at 5:30AM this morning with Stephen Koch who is in town for some avy classes, and a couple other local skiers. We got 4-6" of new overnight, which was a pleasant suprise. Stephen's class starts at 7:30, so we didn't have much time. We chose Country Lane Couloir on Superior.

Temps were 5' F this morning.

Sort of followed a boot pack from other skiers earlier in the week.

This is Ryan, one of the doc's I work with. He called last night to ski, and I told him we were meeting at 5:15. He's just now waking up.

Nice place to spend the morning.

Stephen normally snowboards his descents. He was on skis today, showing his multi talent on the p-tex.

Guy on tele's. He works at 8:30am.

Pow in the dark, creature of the night.

Ryan happy he got out of bed.

Today capped off a nice 7 days of skiing. Now it's time to rest.

That is awesome. I noticed the setting full moon while driving into work today and was wondering if anyone took advantage of it. Nice work!

Nice to see that others are up at the same time as me, except you are skiing instead of working. Way to get after it.

Doing more before 7am then most people do all day.

Great stuff Track...Tom was showing a slideshow in Lander and he had a photo of Stephen Koch skinning straight up an icy 45 degree couloir without switch backing. Dude is core! Great photos.

the lack of new snow lately has greatly thrown your off your measuring abilities.

Why you were in bed, I was skiing. On the road there is only 1-2", but that amount increased as we climbed.

What does this photo tell you?

whatever anyway, as I've said before, you are way to core for me - don't think I am worthy to tour with you this year.

Yep, we've got that moon tour for tonight with a few of the WA maggots, but I know there is a 99% chance the snow will be crusty, crunchy and crappy. Nothing like the "4-6" fresh in the pics...

Oh well, it's still skiing, right

Yeah, but going after work is a lot less hardcore than getting up at waytoodamnearlyo’clock. Nonetheless, I’m stoked for the night tour, shit snow or not.

Whenever I feel like I've been a little lazy, Trackhead's threads remind me that I'm a total pussy and shouldn't even call myself a skier. I quit.
