Question Anybody know anything about a rumored Tanner Hall arrest in Vail?

Saw something about it over on K2...guess he pulled a "Do-you-know-who-I-am?!?!?!" thing.

    Anybody have any details?

As I'm living proof. Reservations at the Crossbar hotel in Vail are easy to come by.

    I thought he was dead?!?
I didn't come to Vail to express that show of emotions and that kind of attitude," Hall said. "I'm very sorry. It wasn't a good night. I'm not a kid that goes to jail and gets arrested. I'd never been arrested, then (Saturday) I found myself in jail. I was like, 'Whoa.' It was a hard lesson."

yeah I was kind of bummed - when I saw the headline, I was like "FINALLY he gets busted for possession!"

Nope, disorderly. Kind of a letdown.

"We knew who he was right away, and we were extremely polite to him. It kind of went from there. He started poking our manager, and his buddy was about to hit someone with a bottle. We restrained them because his MSP segment was absolutely terrible."

no, not every pro wears it on their shoulder as a badge of pride like he does.

his IDENTITY is that he's a stoner.

Lay off the kid, he was drinking away his despair over the cancellation and subsequent inability to race the Hannenkahm. Jeez.

VAIL - Tanner Hall, one of the most recognized names in freeskiing, was arrested early Saturday morning at Fubar in Vail Village and charged with disorderly conduct, police said.

Hall and his teammate Mikael Deschenaux, both 21, Chris Biollo and another man whose identity couldn't be disclosed because he's in protective custody were arrested around 2 a.m. after a skirmish with bouncers at the club, police said.

"They were fighting with the doormen," Sgt. Mike Knox of the Vail Police Department said. "From what I understand, they were all very arrogant with the officers and not very nice."

Hall and dozens of the world's best freeskiers were in town all weekend for the U.S. Freeskiing Open at Vail.

After Hall won the men's superpipe contest on Sunday, he expressed remorse regarding the Fubar incident.

"Some bouncers didn't like who I was. They didn't like me in their club," Hall said. "It's hard when you're a kid that's 21 years old who everyone's looking at. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not happy about this. To all my fans and to everybody in Vail, I'm very sorry you had to hear about that. I'm very embarrassed."

Fubar employee Eddie Schoenbein was working at the bar Friday night and witnessed the incident.

"I was on the right side of the bar, and Tanner came up. He seemed like he was pretty drunk," Schoenbein said. "He started yelling off stupid stuff about rap. Our manager said, 'We're done playing music.' He started saying, 'Do you know who I am?' and that kind of thing. We knew who he was right away, and we were extremely polite to him. It kind of went from there. He started poking our manager, and his buddy was about to hit someone with a bottle. We restrained them because they were violent."

Schoenbein said Fubar staff called the police, who arrived, handcuffed Hall and his friends - one of whom was also charged with resisting arrest - and took them away. Schoenbein said Hall is not banned from his establishment and is welcome back under the condition that he "comes for the right reasons - to have a good time" and stays under control.

Hall said he would like to write an apology letter and that Saturday's incident was the first time he's ever been arrested.

"I didn't come to Vail to express that show of emotions and that kind of attitude," Hall said. "I'm very sorry. It wasn't a good night. I'm not a kid that goes to jail and gets arrested. I'd never been arrested, then (Saturday) I found myself in jail. I was like, 'Whoa.' It was a hard lesson."

Great. Now he can continue his wannabe Tupac act and claim he's got street cred because he's done time in prison

jibbing should not be considered freeskiing. I don't like the two (big mountain and park/pipe) having anything to do with one another; they're as different as racing is to aerials. Not really on subjuct at all, but who says it has to be.

Naahh I don't think a 2 hour detention in county center drunk tank qualifies as prison....plus he was "Detained" in Vail for christ sake......not exactly a "Hard Core" town if you get what i mean. Can someone please explain to me why he has to act like such a douche bag at the competitions? Jesus he is such moron and to make matters worse he is too stupid to even realize it when everyone (us, the fans, and the organizers) are making fun of him. Hell the PA announcer in T-hoe was seriously talking shit about him and he was soo stupid he thought it was a compliment.

A true wasted talent--one of those guys who is here today and forgotten tomorrow, fortunately for us.

    Perhaps one to many concusions.

Having never been around the guy, my impression of Tanner Hall is this: average kid with extraordinary talent and a lot of people feeding him money, ego, and bullshit.
Go to any high school in the US and you'd be hard pressed to find less than 50 kids who dress, act, and talk just like him. He's into hip hop and weed, there's nothing so strange about that. Just because he mixes in skiing and happens to realize that he's one of the absolute best at his version of skiing doesn't mean he shouldn't be into hip hop and weed. Sure, he could portray himself with more modesty, but his antics seem rarely to go beyond those of wide recievers doing touch down dances or b-ballers in the dunking contest. Truly, his style of skiing is all about showing off, so why shouldn't he puff it up?
You know what's really cool about Tanner Hall: he's not on steroids and he this is the first time he's gotten into trouble with the law. He's a more reputable athlete than Barry Bonds, Ron Artest, Latrell Spreewell, or so many other pros out there. Most professional athletes of his stature would love to have such a clean record. Moreover, the kid represents his interests to the fullest and doesn't pull punches because people shit talk him or think that a white kid from Montana shouldn't be into hip hop.
Why do so many folks have such schadenfraud against the kid? He's doing a lot to make skiing cool again (agree with that or not) and that will have positive ramifications for all off us skiers. Really, what is your problem with Tanner: stoner? yeah, like he's the only stoner skier you've heard of; hip hop fan? visit our own music/books/movies forum and find out who else you need to hate; arrogant? he's earned it, and his quotes are usually much more down to earth than anybody gives him credit for; awesome stunt skier? if his idea of skiing and yours don't match up, that is no reason to hate him - just ask the folks in Northern Ireland, Rawanda, Sudan, Yugoslavia, etc.
It's not that I love the kid, I think he catches a far disproportionate amount of undeserved flack. Get over it, dudes. Quit player hating.
