TR Alpine Meadows Afternoon Patrol 11-4-04
My first adventure on skins, woot woot! My buddy had to apply for a job (what's that?) earlier, so we didn't get started until after 1PM, but plenty of time for a run or two up Alpine. With some borrowed skins and trackers, and a puppy in tow, we set off. Skining rocks, I'm ordering some AT stuff tomorrow, no doubt.
Huck's first BC adventure:

Some gnar stuff I can't remember what it's called:

The Keyhole, can't wait to shred this:

Pete's Peril:

Me shredding below/skier's left of Pete's. You can see Huck up and to the right of me. The snow was about as deep as him. In the sequence shots, he'll alternately appear and disappear beneath the snow. He loved it.:

Me again.

My bud Hilary (non-maggot), teleing on his Spatulas. By the way, he says they're the shiznit for skining:

Hilary again. You can catch him in the Unparalled Productions movie, Lost Season in stores everywhere. He would probably be pissed if he knew I was posting a pic of him in the backseat.:

It was in and out of the sun today, lots of clouds moving through. But you can see the photo at the top of Pete's where everything just cleared out. Some dudes were booting up (all the way to the top of alpine, carrying theire skis over their shoulders, no doubt) that we caught up too, and they went further up above us. Sure didn't like the supposed 8-10" of fresh where they were coming down. Hilary knows his way around, dropped us around Pete's, and that's where all the snow was. The photos of me don't really show it, but we were getting up to our knees in parts where the wind had blown it all off the ridge. Best turns of the year, so far. It was pow over uneven crustiness lower down, making for some interesting turns, but still tons of fun.Last edited by Darkside; 11-04-2004 at 11:51 PM.

Thanks y'all.
Tyrone, I'll totally give you a shout if I see you. As long as you let me take a run on your Bros! Not sure if there's going to be enough snow for the Spats, but maybe for a few runs in the morning at least. Otherwise I'll be black coat, tan pants, pink/black ARV's. Anyone who's out give a shout.
