    Best Netflix Instant Downloads

The instant download function has saved me from having to sit through chick filcks several times. I love this service. Let's make a list of the best titiles available so we don't have to browse so long. I'll start:
    - A River Runs Through It, about Montana fly fishing and brothers
    - Power of One, about apartheid
    - No Reservations, the Anthony Bourdain TV show
    - This American Life, the radio show becomes a tv show, seasons 1 and 2
    - The Great Outdoors, John Candy and Dan Ackroyd hilarity

I've been tearing through Dexter lately. I find it hard to watch just one episode. Speaking of which, why am dicking around here...

I'm definitely going to start in on No Reservations next.

    Great thread, BTW.

    Friday Night Lights... the show

    The Tudors

    Michael Collins

    Rob Roy

    (^^^ I like Scottish/Irish/Welsh/English history.)

I found some in my list of rated movies that aren't too bad:

    The Big Lebowski
    Caddyshack
    Blazing Saddles
    Das Boot
    Dr. Strangelove
    Forrest Gump
    Gosford Park
    On the Waterfront
    The People vs. Larry Flynt
    Psycho
    The Princess Bride
    Slap Shot
    Taxi Driver
    Unforgiven
    Barry Lyndon
    Becket
    Being There
    Best in Show
    Bottle Rocket
    Casablanca
    Cool Hand Luke
    A Clockwork Orange
    Dangerous Liasons
    Deliverance
    Dog Day Afternoon
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
    Ghostbusters
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
    Grosse Point Blank
    Groundhog Day
    In Cold Blood
    The Killing Fields
    Miller's Crossing
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
    The Motorcycle Diaries
The Wind that Shakes the Barley (some Irish history for you SCUTSKI)

That's nearly everything I rated 4 or more stars that you can watch instantly. I left off a few 3 hour movies though because who wants stare at their computer for that long.

    I appreciate this thread.

The Van Halen Story: The Early Years - good if you like VH, but kind of funny b/c they couldn't use any of their music in it.
LoudQUIETloud: A Film About the Pixies
    Notorious BIG: Bigger Than Life

Every season of Lost is available. Vacation, Euro Vacation, etc. Lots of good BBC documentaries (Attenborough, Michael Palin). Lots of good old war movies.

Xbox has worked well for me for some of the movies, but I haven't been able to figure out how to access my entire instant queue. Is it just me, or can you only access some of the movies that are available through the PC on the Xbox.

It's connection dependent, but usually pretty good. Some even come in HD.

Any movie that you find on the PC just add to your instant queue and it will show up on the xbox.

I think I read somewhere that you need at least 4mbps to get DVD quality.

If you are into crazy movies this one doesn't disappoint. 3 directors direct 3 different parts of the movie. Michel Gondry, Leos Carax and Bong Joon-ho

TOKYO! was whack. I liked it.

Have none of you noticed that Steep is available for instant download on Netflix?

I boiled my thermometer, and sure enough, this spot, which purported to be two thousand feet higher than the locality of the hotel, turned out to be nine thousand feet LOWER. Thus the fact was clearly demonstrated that, ABOVE A CERTAIN POINT, THE HIGHER A POINT SEEMS TO BE, THE LOWER IT ACTUALLY IS. Our ascent itself was a great achievement, but this contribution to science was an inconceivably greater matter.

There are movies they put on and take off the instant watch list. No country for old men used to be on there too but no longer. Steep was, but no longer.
