    FS: Salomon AK Rockets 195 cm + 912 bindings = $175 shipped!

Salomon AK Rocket Lab Swallowtails 195 cm with Salomon 912 bindings included

    $175 shipped!
    local Tahoe pickup preferred--$150

    Skis: 130-95-114 / Radius 25 m
Condition: mint. Skied them maybe 25 days max. Bought new & mounted once with included bindings at 310 bsl. I have a full quiver and spend a lot of my time in the backcountry, so although I ski 60 - 70 days a year, these guys get skied infrequently. I have a knee and a back, so I don't huck. No core shots, bases and bindings are fresh like young boy.

    Garden hose not included:

These are basically the only marks on the bases, nothing major:

    minty bindings included:

    Peace to you motherfuckers

It's a great deal, man. Just can't swing it.

Thanks for the pm wildstyle... the UK shipping thing sounds a bit complicated. A random internet check showed FedEx quoting at least $225 USD to ship skis+bindings to London, and the website for the US Postal Service quoted a minimum price of over $100 USD. If you have a Star Trek transporter, that would be great. If not, it might be cheaper for you to take a vacation to Lake Tahoe and pick them up in person.

...prefer to keep the bindings & skis together as they've only been mounted once and it would make a sick quiver addition for someone for super-cheap...bump...

As I had a question about it, $150 cash in Tahoe, or $175 shipped to lower 48, or $200 shipped to Calgary, AB or Western Canada.

    I can't believe these haven't sold.

These are amazing skis. They do it all, reasonably well. They're currently the most versatile skis I have.

Much, much floatier than the dimensions would have you think. 94mm under foot, but float as well as 105-110mm skis -- actually, they float a lot better than several 105-110mm skis I can think of. That big tip keeps you up and moving through the snow, but they're just stiff enough to plow through chop well. Not hooky either, despite the sidecut -- I think most of the sidecut comes very late in the ski, near the heel of the binding, and into the tail. Wood core, metal topsheet. For 195cm skis, they ski short (never feel like they're too long), but stable when you need it (big fast GS turns in pow).

If I have any complaints at all about these skis, it's: soft bases (some sort of "race" base -- fast, but soft), and not as torsionally stiff as I would like (doesn't hold an edge as well as an Explosiv or Legend Pro, but a lot easier to ski in most conditions than either of those skis). Other than that, these are great, fun skis.

For $150/175.... someone pick them up, ASAP.

Thus confirming my belief that El Chupacabra is clearly the most intelligent poster on TGR.

The only reason I haven't bought irie ron's pair is that I have a pair (older, orange SCREAM graphics).

My guess is that people who are passing on these skis just look at the dimensions, and conclude that there's no way a 94mm waist ski is any good any more in powder, that it's too old-fashioned and skinny.

    They're all wrong.

For anyone considering these, do a search here -- there's an older, long, thread discussing the AK Rocket swallowtail skis. Alkasquawlik chimed in with some pro advice.

This ski came up on SAC a long time ago for around $300, which is when I bought my pair, and I thought I got a steal on them at that price. $150 with bindings?!??!!!!

^^^ Bump 'cause this is awesome!

I'd buy them, but I am at the lose one gain one stage in my ski collection and I'm not sure what else I could part with since my one vacancy has a reservation.

Good luck on an unbelievable deal! It's like buying bindings and getting sweet skis for free!

Dude you are unafraid. pm me your address and I'll get you an exact quote to the UK. It looked like USPS was the "cheaper" option so I'll see what they say.
