From what I was told, it wasn't a rumor but a fact. New owner will run it one more year and then another uber rich development.
If those walls could talk...actually some of the stories will probably come out in the Jackson Hole Airforce documentary that is currently being made.

It was only a matter of time. JHMR tried to buy and preserve it, but was outbid, I hear.

Good folks at the Hostel. They have been hearing offers for years. They deserve to retire! Hopefully, it won't become a cheesy overpriced condotell.

    Shit.....

I first stayed at the Hostelx after Colby Wilson built it. I have always wondered how long it would be, be for they got preassured out.

Yeah, I have around 400+ days lodging at the Hostel. I can afford fancier digs now but still stay there as it is place where you can go by yourself, meet nice people to rip with and get honest beta on the conditions. No place for the college kids and young families to get an inexpensive taste of Jackson when it is gone.

You knew this day would come when they put in the tower at the airport.

There is a tram tower at the airport?

BTW, Straightdown, you could have stayed in my guest room for 400 nights...I woulda given you a smokin' deal.

As others have, it was only a matter of time. Hostel X was truly one of my best lodging experiences ever. Awesomely run and always great people to hang out with afterwards ... never mind the 50-foot walk to the Moose.

Way too many white people for that.

I'm hitting Big Sky in March, and this makes that trip even more important for scoping out the future. RIP cheap place to sleep and vaporize.

9m won't buy you much around here.
Gotta go for the cash if you can.
It's not like JHMR would've have kept it running 'as is' anyway.

Thanks for the offer rideit, a bud of mine has a place in Victor too.

Though two guys in a Hostel room @ $20+ each and no need for a car unless you are going to hike the pass made it quite reasonable for extended stays. A ski bag against the bottom of the door to keep the drafts out, a pair of earplugs to sleep with and a paper bathmat sticking to your feet = Skid luxury.

I shed a tear when they put up the sublette quad. Here's another: ' .

On the other hand, it's a good thing because it makes the dreamers search.
