drove past Castle today, saw a few tracks on the south flank but the snow is going fast. Basin Peak looked pretty nice if you make it out that far.

Yeah, I rode at boreal some this evening then drove under the underpass, threw on the flashers and ran up the trail a little ways. Granted its lower down by the interstate, but the snow is going fast. I was even scraping rocks over at boreal where theyve been making snow (ice). What snow is over on the trail has a nice ice crust on it; its hangover friendly since I might as let it thaw some in the morning.

    Kirkwood 11/12/10

My buddy and I took a few runs at Kirkwood today. Hiked up under Chair 6 about 80% of the way up and then the coverage started to thin so we just lapped that a few times. Pretty damn good four days after the first storm of the season. We did not hit one rock and snow quality was, well, "quality" to say the least.

Whoever we were chatting with today in the lot: You forgot your beer in the snow, it's now in our bellies. Actually I may have already converted it into human waste. Point being, we owe you a Sierra Nevada Tumbler and a Black Butte Porter. My liver thanks you.

    Enjoy:

I am new here and wanted to make an introduction.
I live in south lake and am always looking for some new beacon buddies.

Anyway, here is an early season offering for your enjoyment.

Yeehaw, balls taking that drop so early in the season.

Sweet video, can't wait to see stuff from your still camera. You gonna be hauling any of that hardware out in the field this winter? Really digging the stuff on your website.

Thanks for the appreciation from all of you.

I will be trying to capture as often as i can and very rarely don't have some sort of camera with me. I am not that crazy about pov, so if anyone is willing to make turns for the camera i would be much appreciative.

Also, I will be working at the wood 4-5 days a week this year so for anyone in meyers/xmas valley, i would be happy to carpool. As a note, I leave early and arrive home late (or need a ride that does) even when I am not working and the snow is less than desireable.

And lastly, anyone that wants to take a trip to vegas i am planning on being down there this wednesday and thursday night (could use another person to help split costs). I can provide transport but won't be available for nightlife activities.

    Cheers.

The backside of Castle (NW aspect) delivered the goods. Nice sugary powdery stuff. Got shin/knee deep in some turns, and managed no new major scrapes to the bases (yeah, no rock skis :/). It's holding up well in that protected side. Peaked over into the NE chutes, the looked good too but I think it still needs another good layer or two- but someone didn't think so.

Will post a few crappy cell pics later

yeah, dutch. glad you didn't end your season on that tumble.

lots of people poking around carson pass today.

full winter conditions on round top.

pov footage is kinda wack. need to adjust the camera. also, had some fog it looks like.

    There's an app for that!™

    Yelp says... "Village Pizzeria"

    Searched on my iPhone. :P

Thanks! I just can't get myself to trust those apps. Too many choices and usually too many mixed reviews. But if a maggot says "Duuude, hands down Village Pizzeria FTW!" I can trust that. If I'm less than impressed at least I have some recourse in telling him his opinion in pizza quality sucks and he owes me a beer for the bad advice. Anyway, now I gotta figure out where this place is... Can you help w/ that?

Went for a slog out to Thunder Saddle today. Snow is muy bueno & still holding up quite well. Flat light ment no pics. Hiked up Eagle Bowl on the way out & rode down the side of 11. Still real good on the skiers right side of 11 also. 4 hours total
