The City League Thread
Last night was 'qualifying' at City League. These runs are used to place new racers for the first week of racing. The races are head-to-head and they try to keep it competitive.
Anyways, on to the report. Yours truely gaped it up. Greenmachine, rbtree, Dr. Crash and tibaher all layed down times within 1 sec of each other. Bomber layed down the best minion time of the night, but the real stars are tibaher's friends Chris, Dave and Greg, who layed down, 25, 24, and 22s runs respectfually. Greg's time was probably one of the very best on the night (and that's out of a hundred or so qualifiers, and only a few gapers.) Nice work Greg!
Next week: the racing begins!

"team powder who?"
I think everyone knows the name of our team now as the start guy had to repeat it like 7 times to get it right....
heh
Chris is already a maggot BTW. First recruit for me besides Bomber...
KQ, don't forget the cowbell

edit: also, Powder magazine has graciously declined to offer any sponsorship for the team (as expected) but promises not to sue for copyright infringement and is sending stickers to show support!Last edited by tibaher; 01-16-2004 at 02:20 PM.

I rallied out of work, plowed through the traffic and rain and pulled into the lot about 6:15. It was pouring. I put my stuff on. It was pouring.
I sat there and thought about the tradeoff of missing my kids and helping with bedtime vs getting wet and splooshing around in the lower mountain quagmire.
I put a piece of the door from a bogey louvre on the fire and waited for the flames to go "crickle-crackle". But they didn't. Out of the fire came an express train that crossed the room, went down the hall, through the door and away into my childrens night.
I hope I didn't let you down.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

I got to Alp at 1, skiied a number of runs and waited it out until I could take my one timed run. I met up with Josh, supposed to meet with ***** * at 7, but didn't see him there. I don't know anyone else [sob- I'm so lonely!]. Let me know if you need my services this season.

The full results from qualifying are attached to the thread now.
Conclusion 1: We have some fast fockers on this team.
Conclusion 2: I am not one of them.
Anyhoo, I'm thinking of doing one of Gavin's clinics next week (he does one every moday night during the season.) There's a link off of the www.cityleague.com page. Anyone else interested?Last edited by joshbu; 02-11-2004 at 11:52 AM.

So who's racin' tomorrow? I'll be there if I can get my shit dry by tomorrow. Wednesday night at summit west SUCKED a fatty. Actually it was sweet I have never seen a race course developed ruts that people could disappear in. Looked more like a banked slalom.
Raining 3/4 of the way up the hill the freezing level yo-yoed up and down all night, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FREE PASS, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FREE PASS,IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FREE PASS,IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FREE PASS,IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FREE PASS,IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FREE PASS,........ I can make it thru.
FYI Bring your hip waiters and the foulest of your foul weather gear for tomorrow

A few hours of posts were lost last Friday when Owens' server crashed, or something to that effect.

Just talked to Vicki and it may not be a go tonight.
call the office after 5 for a final word on if we're racing tonight.
I for one, would be surprised if we do race considering
