Wink First East Coast Deep Day! w/pics

Sunday River was sick Brah! Conditions were as follows:

New Snow: 3" maybe, brace yourseleves, 3.5"
    Moisture: Conservatively, 25%.
Visibility: White Room Baby! I mean white out baby. Either way, I couldn't see what sticks I was skiing on.
Let me tell yah, you just don't get to many super deep days like this on the right coast! Just glad I was able to be out there in it!

    Two highlights:

Got my first face shot of the year! The piece of ice hit me right in the nose drawing blood. Check out the carnage...

    I am core.

Second highlight was watching this 300lbs. gut, I mean guy, ripping it up on his Pocket Rockets. The blue noodles were vibrating like strings on an over plucked bass.

    Right Coast,..... gotta love it!

Haha, awesome. Well at least no one can accuse you/all the EC people of taking themselves too seriously.

sugarloaf was fucking unreal saturday by the way. Best snow ever.

(and by best snow I mean icy and really crowded, and since my pass doesnt work on saturdays I had to skin up tote road and walk over to spillway)

Yeah, it was unreal here too... And by unreal, I mean the amount of rain was so unreal it closed all of the areas that were open.

Temps are going to be the key. In an effort to preserve the new snow, they hadn't groomed anything. The first couple of runs were fun, but once the snow got pushed up it was hardpack scratch to pile of snow mogul to hardpack scratch. They weren't making any snow either. If it doesn't get cold, I think conditions will worsen. Last weekend the snow was like mid winter conditions.

    Still, better than working....

Killington has a few cupfuls of slush left after this weekend. Go get it!

Actually it wasn't so bad. NCP all morning on and off yesterday kept the crowds somewhat under control. There were still a lot of people though. Everyone is just desperate to ski.

Bittersweet was well...sweet yesterday. If you can go up today or tomorrow go for it. Calling for lower temps later in the week so hopefully all is not lost.
